Newsweek isn’t exactly the first place I’d look to find something amusing but lo and behold they have an article up about Georgia’s Crazy Congress Critter Marjorie Taylor Greene. It seems she sat down with Piers Morgan for an interview and while you’d think it might be a friendly forum for her it turned out to be not-so-much. Morgan does after all like being dickish and he just couldn’t resist reviving the whole “Jewish Space Lasers” thing. MTG was less than pleased to say the least and it got pretty testy:

On Tuesday, Greene appeared in an interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored that featured several minutes of arguments and denials concerning the infamous theory. Greene, who was promoting her new book MTG, become visibly annoyed after Morgan suggested that she could be a “conspiracy theory wack job.”

MTG reacted by accusing Morgan and the media “twisting her words” and says she only talked about it in the book to make it clear she “never” used those exact words:

“I talk about Jewish space lasers in my book because that was something I never said,” Greene said. “Excuse me, Piers, I never said that phrase. That was a lie about me. If you read my original Facebook post, I never said it. That’s why I had to write this book.”

She went on to say Morgan and others were attacking her and calling her names (including it seems antisemitic) adding “I’m not antisemitic at all. I support Israel.” Oh Marge, you should have known Morgan wouldn’t have started this pie fight without having receipts and indeed he countered with asking her about her “crazy post” in 2018. The back and forth continued with Morgan quoting some of what she’d written and Greene making like Trump claiming it was fake so Morgan decided it was time to pull out the big gun:

Morgan then held up a yellow highlighted version of Greene’s Facebook post, saying “before we move on, you have to just accept what you wrote yourself.”

Confronted with that Margie threw in the towel and shifted the subject to her support for those January 6 rioters. Sadly, the goobers in her district will almost certainly keep sending MTG back to Congress. If I’m not mistaken someone challenged her in the primary last time but it went nowhere. It’s too much to  hope that the time will come when the GOP tires of losing and decides to clean house. And in sufficient numbers to make it clear their Party is done with the crazies ask for Democrats to help expel her and others from Congress. In the meantime the best we can hope for is this, a normally friendly to conservatives TV personality being mean to her.

Well, it made ME smile.

Help keep the site running, consider supporting.

  1. I don’t see Republican voters willingly abandoning the MAGA Republican party. Nothing they desire is Constitutional and only a bunch of lying, treasonous, killers can meet their needs. Supply and demand. The great flaw of democracy.

Well, it went somewhere–the guy dropped out of the race about a month before the election and moved out of the state. I don’t remember where or why he moved (he did seem to have been genuinely interested in running but there was some reason that meant he had to drop out).

  3. There is a better chance to get bono out of office. MTG’s district is extremely conservative and insanely evangelical Christian. My just lived there as a kid. Sadly nothing g has changed in 60years. It’s like P’Cola, Bratty Marty’s district: A Democracy has as much chance of winning g there as FT Donnie does of succeeding Pope Francis.
