Melania’s AWOL From Trump Xmas Photo, It Took All Day To Find An Excuse Why

Another one for the books. The Trump family had themselves a holly jolly Xmas, with the patriarch, Donald, screaming “go to HELL” at the special counsel in two of his criminal indictment cases, while images of brutal polling statistics danced in his head, like sugar plum fairies, waking or sleeping. Then it looks like the klan gathered for a memorialization of yet another wonderful year as a family but wait — where’s the Queen? She’s not next to the King, wha hoppon?

Page Six is reporting that Melania was “attending to a family matter,” which has raised eyebrows. What could that be? (It turns out that many hours later, Fox News learned that she sat with her ailing mother.) And that’s not all Page Six is saying. They’re reporting that Melania plans to take quite the role as diplomatic leader when she’s back in the White House. OMG. Let’s hope this is gossip fodder. More Melania is the last thing we need — although it would be amusing to see her on the campaign trail talking about how wonderful her hubby is.

A source tells Page Six that after Donald Trump scored a recent Supreme Court victory in his federal election subversion case, “Trump and his family are so secure that he will become president again that insiders at Mar-a-Lago say he’s reached an agreement with [wife] Melania [Trump] to step up top-tier diplomatic appearances in 2024.”

Some victory. The appellate court convenes on January 9, the ruling will drop very quickly.

The Trumpworld source told us that after Melania recently appeared with fellow former first ladies at Rosalynn Carter’s funeral, she is, “feeling more sure of herself — as both her husband’s representative and her own position as a diplomatic figure after her positive reception at the Carter funeral.”

I’m sure you remember how Melania got ripped a new one for showing up in her grey coat, which made her stand out in a sea of black. If she’s managed to spin that as a “positive reception” then we have a new definition of tone deafness for the Urban Dictionary.

She also appeared at a citizens’ naturalization ceremony at the National Archives.

Our source added, “Melania realizes it’s her time to join the ranks of historic first ladies and leave her mark on history… She feels better prepared for her potential role the second time around.”

The source added that Melania also feels she can devote more time to the role since her son with Trump, Barron, is now 17.

Fox News later reported that the family matter was Melania sitting with her ailing mother. Which is fine. Why handle it in cloak and dagger fashion, just say so up front. Melania is a genius at generating the Streisand Effect. She draws attention to a lot of things that would slide right under the radar if she would just defuse the situation ahead of time. If the photo had been released with a caption, “Melania sends her deepest regrets for being absent, due to nursing her sick mother,” there wouldn’t have been a ripple in the pond. No news.

But she creates news and that may be on purpose. Like Trump, she may love creating chaos. I have believed that since the pea coat debacle. I Really Don’t Care Do U? is this woman’s philosophy of life condensed down to five words and a letter. Maybe she should have it engraved on her tombstone.

And how much do you want to bet that Melania will not be present for New Year’s, either? Or anywhere near the state of Iowa, two weeks later. Not that I blame her one bit. And if her mother is gravely ill, then that might tell another story, but answer me this: Why was Melania’s father out partying, then? I’m assuming that’s Melania’s father on the far left of the family photo. He looks quite happy. So if his wife is seriously ill, why is he not at her side?

As usual, anything that comes out of the mouth of a Trump raises ten more questions than it answers.
