I am sure most of you have seen Matthew McConaughhey’s gut and heart wrenching comments from the White House podium today on the need for sane gun laws, if you have not there is an excellent diary on the front page that has the video.
This post is about the right wing’s reaction his comments, which included heartbreaking details about the young lives taken in the mass shooting in McConaughey’s hometown of Uvalde, Texas. McConaughey’s speech was a searing indictment of our nation’s inability to protect our children from the NRA’s predatory policy of trying to insure that anyone, at anytime, with any intent, has unfettered access to the killing instrument of his choice, and as such could not be allowed to go unchallenged by the propagandists at Newsmax and their hired gun, White-House correspondent James Rosen.

I purposely did not put Rosen’s name in the title because he is just a talentless asshole who does not deserve any of my ink, employed by the real villain here, Newsmax, whose soul purpose seems to be trolling anyone who has a positive vision for our country, and assuring Trump voters that they are not the stupid hate filled bigots that the rest of the country knows them to be… and if it were not Rosen carrying their water into the White-House it would be some other idiot.
Speaking of soulless ghouls, right wing Twitter came out after McConaughey’s speech today to play their favorite game, Whataboutism, and denigrate Matthew, and another of their favorite whipping boys, Alec Baldwin…

Mmm, Ray, guns have been in Movies since “Birth Of A Nation”, but it is only since the NRA decided that they had to arm every American to the teeth to maximize their profits that kids have had to practice live shooter drills in their classrooms…

McConaughey lived in Uvalde until he was 11. He probably knows some of the parents from when he was a kid.
