What ever happened to DeFuture? That’s how Ron DeSantis was lovingly characterized by Fox News when he won the “landslide” victory to reelection as governor. His unsurprising gubernatorial victory was conflated as being the future that the GOP could look forward to, when he did exactly the same thing in a presidential campaign. The only problem with that is that Florida is a deep red state these days, so it made complete sense that, as the incumbent, he won by 22 points. It’s not at all the same thing as winning a presidential election.
Nevertheless, DeSantis was touted as DeFuture. Interviews were had with the man and woman in the street who were all saying that while they adored Donald Trump, it was time to move on. Even Laura Ingraham made noises about “turning the page.”
But something has happened because now if there’s any page to be turned, it looks like it’s being turned back. Take a look at this.

I think it’s safe to say that some of Fox News has decided to stay on the Trump train.
The GOP primary starts in earnest this week, when Ron DeSantis officially announces on the 25th. There isn’t all that much time between now and the beginning of the caucuses, about six months. It’s later than you think.
The klan has a grand dragon. The nazis had Hitler. The evil hordes in hades have Satan. The magats need a leader. What’s are soulless child killers supposed to do without one?
Sometimes you just can’t fix stupid or at least not this effing stupid.
