At least one family in Texas has woken up to the fact of who Ted Cruz is and what he really stands for. The father of a Texas marine recently released from detention in Russia is livid. He says that Cruz “didn’t do anything” to help negotiate the release of his son. Of course he didn’t. You think he wanted to offend Vladimir Putin? Daily Beast:
“He’s an embarrassment to the state of Texas,” Joey Reed said. “I don’t care what or who runs against him, I will work for their campaign to defeat that son of a bitch.” Trevor Reed, 30, was arrested in Moscow in 2019 and accused of assaulting a cop; Russian authorities said he could face nine years in prison though some claimed there was insufficient evidence.
When Joey and Paula Reed contacted Cruz on behalf of their son, they claim a staffer responded, “Because Senator Cruz is such an enemy of Putin, he’s afraid that if he says anything, it will hurt your son.” The enemy status was attributed to Cruz’s stance against the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, Cruz explained in a statement to The Dallas Morning News. When Trevor was released as part of a prisoner exchange, Cruz called the family to celebrate. But Joey said he responded, “Where have you been for the last two and a half years?”
Where has he been? On Fox News, kissing Tucker Carlson’s behind — Carlson being another Putin aficionado of the highest order. I’m glad the Reed family has seen the light and now they’re on our side. I feel terrible that it took a situation like this to wake them up to who Cruz is.
Cruz is interested in his presidential ambitions and in being in with the in crowd. That’s it. His constituents are basically a nuisance. They’re a means to an end and beyond that, he doesn’t care about them.
Cruz has few morals and fewer ethics, as demonstrated by him going to Cancun while everyone else in Texas was trying to keep from freezing to death. And he left his dog there.
