As you have gathered from the unanimous vote by the Select Committee On 01/06 to seek a criminal referral on Steve Bannon, they’re not going to mess around with evasion and stonewalling.
Liz Cheney had some words for the Committee and for her Republican colleagues today.

McCarthy may have wanted an investigation back in January, but that didn’t last very long. As soon as he saw which way the political winds were blowing he jumped right on the Big Lie bandwagon, where he has remained, other than for occasionally waffling that yeah, people know Biden won, but, let’s not talk about it okay?

It’s tragic that Liz Cheney would have to even comment on such fundamental basics as she did. If the GOP is in such a place where one of their members has to even discuss how the truth is better than lies, and advocate for telling it, then they’ve fallen to a very low place indeed.
The Big Lie is ground zero in the culture war. If it gets routed and thrown on the ash heap, then democracy can continue, a bit bruised, but it can continue. If Trump continues to push the Big Lie and it looks like that’s his main platform for 2024, then it’s anybody’s guess how severe the damage will be.
Liz must feel like the den mother of some really stupid & fucked up kids.
