This is the lay of the land, folks. This is who we are in the summer of 2023, at least this past week. And August just started. This could be the most significant August in American history, since 1945 when the bombs dropped, ending WWII.

You’ve seen some of this madness already, but cut together in one montage, the effect is singular, to put it mildly.

They’re getting their news from Q and electing Nancy Mace, Lauren Boebert, Marge Green and the ever present Matt Gaetz. Not to mention Andy Biggs and Paul Gosar. Where was Gosar when the Hunter Biden debacle that wasn’t went down? Never mind, I think I’m better off not knowing.

Lincoln Project issued a statement about Trump’s third indictment today.

Trump’s Indictment Won’t Stop Candidacy

August 1, 2023 – Reed Galen and Rick Wilson, co-founders of The Lincoln Project, release the following statement on Trump’s indictment:

“Trump was indicted tonight for trying to turn the “Big Lie” – that he won the election – into an attempt to stop the peaceful transfer of power. This is just one more example showing the depravity and ruthlessness Trump is willing to employ in obtaining power for himself and his parasitic family.

“The nation needs to wake up to the very real threat that Trump will win the presidency. He IS the Republican nominee. He IS leading in the polls against Joe Biden. The MAGA GOP is a cult that no longer cares about the rule of law and wants to send Trump back to the White House. No indictment is going to stop his campaign.

“All Americans must realize the only choice before voters is between a functioning democracy versus a disgraced former President who tried to overthrow the government. There is only one functioning party in America that cares about the rule of law and believes in democracy – and President Joe Biden is its candidate.”

That’s the choice in 2024. It’s not a choice between a Republican and a Democrat. Those days are gone. That era ended, temporarily, we hope, in 2016. The choice before us now is democracy or fascism. And there are plenty of people in this country all too happy to embrace fascism. That is what is terrifying.

  1. The saddest part is that all those low intellect, undereducated GOPers who think fascism is cool have no freaking idea what the difference between democracy and fascism/autocracy/plutocracy is. They think they’re going to get to keep their guns? Probably only if they join the GOPFascist Army. They think they’re going to have more freedom? Wrong, wrong, wrong. When the ruling fascist decides they get less freedoms, it’ll be too late and they’ll be just as miserable as they are now. Stoopid, stoopid, stoopid, STUPID!
