Lin Wood has a self destructive streak that is mind boggling to behold. He’s got one speed, which is arrogant contention and the stays in that gear 24/7, when prudence and common sense would be screaming at the average person to cool it and stay in their own lane. Not Wood. He is oblivious.

Judge Linda Parker stipulated that last Monday’s sanctions hearing in Detroit via Zoom could not be reproduced or transmitted. That’s simple enough. But it was too complex for Wood. He defied the order and now the judge wants him to explain why he shouldn’t be disciplined for breaking the rule.

Law and Crime:

Wood’s retransmission of the original sanctions hearing may is on track to result in additional potential sanctions.

In issuing Thursday evening’s two-page order, Judge Linda V. Parker, a Barack Obama appointee to U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Michigan, declined to consider holding Wood in “criminal contempt of court” over the recent Telegram post. But it did consider that Wood might need to be “disciplined in accordance with” another local court rule.

The rule Judge Parker identified, Local Rule 83.22(d), allows a judge to discipline an attorney by means other than suspension or disbarment (from the Eastern District of Michigan specifically). Among the possible reasons for discipline include the rather broad rationale that the attorney engaged in “conduct unbecoming of a member of the bar of this court.”

The rule lays out the procedure to be followed going forward:

Prior to the imposition of discipline, the attorney shall be afforded an opportunity to show good cause, within such time as the Court shall prescribe, why the discipline should not be imposed. Upon the attorney’s response, and after a hearing, if requested and allowed by the judicial officer, or upon expiration of the time prescribed for a response if no response is made, the Court shall enter an appropriate order.

Judge Parker’s order contemplates precisely that — and forces a reply in exactly one week’s time.

Wood is so lost in his own hubris that he can’t see where he is the architect of his own adversity. It’s all “them.”

In response to a general inquiry by Law&Crime seeking comment about Judge Parker’s order, Wood responded as follows to this writer:

Aaron,

I have not seen the order but I no longer comment to Mockingbird propaganda rags like Law and Crime. I just pray for my enemies.

God bless you.

Lin

Law and Crime is a propaganda rag now. Okay. I wonder if Wood remembers the old adage, “Pride goeth before a fall?”

  1. How is this guy not already in prison for practicing and advocating treason and sedition? And it looks to me like his eyes are as bloodshot as Donnie Jr.’s. Got drugs?

  2. Correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t cameras illegal in all federal courtrooms? As I understand it even audio recordings aren’t allowed except for a recording (and a backup or two) for the court reporter to utilize. When you hear a clip from a federal courtroom it’s from one the court itself recorded. It frustrates the hell out of journalists that they aren’t allowed to take their cell phones or other recording devices into federal courtrooms.

Wood claiming since he didn’t make the recording in question, or trying to say the own hearing he was summoned to is some type of personal persecution is a load of bullshit. He knows the rules. They’ve been in existence his entire life!

At some point we need some of these judges to starting citing people for contempt AND locking them up for a few nights.

  3. Actually, the proverb reads, “Pride goeth before DESTRUCTION, ans a haughty spirit before a fall.” Woods has both going for him and I think that, although he can get up after a fall, the other part will be far more difficult. I can’t think of a more appropriate penalty.
