Even a bass wouldn’t get in trouble if it just kept it’s big fat mouth shut!

You know, the real problem with a second rate reality television star as a former President is that he keeps expecting everything he ever did to go into reruns. And that means that because Trump incited an insurrection on January 6th, and doesn’t want it to fade from memory, we’re stuck with mental misfits like Stephen Miller, Michael Flynn, and Steve Bannon every night. It’s like that streaming channel that plays really shitty game shows from the 70’2 and 80’s that nobody watches.

Two Shirts Steve Bannon turned himself over to the authorities at the FBI field office this morning, surrounded by whiny sycophants, like an overrated boxer. He was booked, fingerprinted, mug shots were taken, then perp walked over to the courtroom for a federal magistrate to officially get him in the criminal system. And then it was over, and Bannon walked out of the courthouse, and the wheels fell off. Bannon strutted out of court like a half wit Outlaw Josie Whale, and started shooting from the lip. He ranted on about how this was about to be the Misdemeanor from hell for Nancy Pelosi, Merrick Garland, and Joe Biden. Biden had personally ordered Garland to indict him, and the chickens were coming home to roost. They were going on offense, so just watch and stand by. Bannon made three separate veiled threats involving the phrase going on offense.

The man is a congenital moron. Everybody who has ever watched a cop drama from any era knows the drill. You’re under arrest. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. And dudes and dudettes, when they say anything you say, they don’t just mean to the cops. They mean anything you say to anybody, including the media!

Remember for a moment one of the reasons that Bannons in this pickle in the first place. One of the reasons that the committee wants to talk to him is his statements on his podcast of January 5th, then he predicted that All hell was going to break loose. It was going to be like nothing you expected. It was going to be quick, and it was going to be physical, so strap in. How was it that a man who hadn’t been actively involved in the Trump administration since 2017, and had no official role now, was able to predict the events of 1/6 with almost surgical precision?

Now Bannon is back in the spotlight again. He has an audience, he has a cause celebrate, he has a platform, and he has cameras. And Bannon being Bannon, he’ll fuck up again. He already did it today, with the veiled threats of violence spun into his threats of going on offense. The really funny thing is that this has absolutely nothing to do with Bannon’s indictment! The indictment is not trying to compel Bannon’s testimony and turning over documents, it is punishing him for completely blowing off a legal subpoena in the first place. They don’t want his cooperation, they want to punish his insolence.  Bannon’s own lawyer is actively burying his own client. In his written response to the committee, his lawyer was more bellicose and obstructionist than either Bannon or even Trump.

In closing, I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that this is going to drag out for months, and unfortunately, we are going to have a steady diet of Bannon in our ears and eyes as it plays out. But the good news is that every time the stupid shit opens his mouth, he’s only going to say more and more that will help to bury him at his trial, and his own lawyer will help. I can put up with it.
