GOP House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is a case study in the biggest problem in being a brainless, toadying sycophant. You spend so much time prostrating yourself before Glorious Bleater and his slobbering army of racist morons, that you tend to forget that not only aren’t they the only ones out there in the world, they aren’t even the majority of people out in the world.
Flighty Mouse McCarthy has his marching orders. He made the mandatory pilgrimage to Bedminster, where he self flagellated while The Cheeto Messiah ranted about the injustice of the world, and his plans for swift revenge. And then Ex El Pendejo Presidente helped McCarthy fill out his starting lineup.
McCarthy finally got around to releasing his roster of 5 GOP Representatives to fill his portion of the Select House Committee on the January 6th Insurrection. Of course Ohio pond scum Jim He groped me coach! Jordan made the cut. After all, it isn’t a party without Mr. Potato Head. But he also named two more Representatives in joining Jordan in voting to refuse to certify the electoral college results on the night of January 6th, after cowering in closets and hiding under desks.
Now, I don’t know what if any instructions McCarthy gave to his automatons, but he had better be careful, because he’s literally playing with fire.
It’s one thing for political cretins like Jim Jordan, Louie Gohmert, and Sugar Daddy Matt Gaetz to act out their inner infant in a committee hearing about a bill, or a scheduled cabinet member appearance, or some other marginal issue under investigation or examination. But this is different.
This is January 6th. This is the Insurrection. The then sitting President of the United States, along with toadying minions, stirred up a mob that they had personally summoned to Washington via social media to attack the United States Capitol and stop the counting of the electoral college votes. And the whole thing played out live on national TV, with no commercial interruptions.
Here’s a News Flash!, for Kevin McCarthy. Out here in the non Trombie United States, we actually give a shit about that! Veterans who wore the cloth, and in some cases bled for this country are furious. Cops who proudly Serve and Protect are furious at the treatment that their brethren received at the hands of the Trump mob. And regular everyday citizens were scarified to death that our magnificent democratic experiment almost came to an end at the hands of a fat, strutting poltroon, and his racist, anti government mob.
It’s one thing for the GOP House howler monkeys to make a mockery of a standard congressional proceeding. But this is anything but that. This is the January 6th Insurrection. This is a raw, gaping wound on the soul of this country. Regardless of whether people are Democrats or republicans, we kind of get a kick of having the longest lasting, most stable functional democracy in the history of the planet. And we have no truck for a bunch of rabble slobs that want to tear it apart.
GOP House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy had better tread with extreme care with any marching orders he gives his minions. This is not a normal hearing, it’s personal this time. If McCarthy is smart, he will tell his committee members to be quiet, respectful, and stay in the background. Ask pertinent questions, but don’t spiral out of control. People want answers, not bullshit. But if McCarthy turns his cranial retards loose to make a mockery of the process, then he risks the wrath of a voting population that wants answers, not theatrics. Just a word to the stupid. Don’t touch that dial.

Sorry Murf, but those seditionist GOP assholes won’t be taking their orders from McCarthy. They will be taking them directly from Trump. And Trump doesn’t want ANYONE in the GOP trying to as Lincoln said “Bind up the Nation’s wounds.” To that Trump says (as my DIs and frankly all of us did back in the Corps) “Not only NO, but FUCK NO!” His orders will be not to bind up the Nation’s wounds, but take a rusty chain saw to them.
I predict this will get really, really ugly. And the public DESERVES to have every minute aired live on both broadcast and cable networks, just as happened with the insurrection on January 6. Especially when Capitol Police and others who actually defended the building and Members of Congress (and Pence too) including and especially the seditionist GOP assholes on the panel are ripping them.
I don’t expect anything good to come from Gym Jordan, or any other of the Republicans McCarthy will appoint. They’re all too frightened of the Former Guy; gutless weasels, one and all.
Two of them were smart enough to vote to certify AZ and PA’s electors.
Politically, McCarthy is a dead man walking. All he’s doing right now is treading water until someone saves him…which no one will. And I stand by my caption of what Liz Cheney is saying in the picture above: “I will kill you in your sleep.”
Rodney Davis is the only acceptable one of the five. The other four all voted against a Jan 6 select committee.
Banks and Armstrong voted to certify the electors from AZ and PA – Davis didn’t.
Not sure any of them are *good* guys, but not supporting the lie at that time is different from holding it up later.
I think Nancy Pelosi needs to veto every single one of these scum. Or, at the very least, ask each and every one of them to explain why Trump’s actions aren’t worthy of just one single investigation yet the GOP held dozens of investigations on Hillary Clinton’s emails (all of which yielded the same results). Anyone who cannot provide a reasonable answer should be precluded from taking part on this committee. (Of course, the greater amusement will come from watching all of them squirm, hemming and hawing in a futile effort to explain why Hillary’s emails were a far more heinous action than Trump’s January 6th behavior.)
Yeah, that’d be funny. If they did hem and haw that is. Seems like the members of the G.Q.P. always have some rationalization or lie to justify any and every thing they do or say. As much stuff as they pull out of their a*ses you’d think their a-holes would be the size of Jupiter by now.
