Loose lips sink ships and if those lips are in court, they can cost a lot of money. Donald Trump is now $15,000 lighter than he was when the trial began, due to a first fine of $5,000 followed by a second fine, just today, in the sum of $10,000.
Trump can’t say he wasn’t warned. He was warned repeatedly. But that’s not what’s comical. What’s comical is the excuse Trump made that he wasn’t talking about the judge’s clerk, when he made the crack about the “bias” of the judge and then the bias “of the person next to him.” No, Trump says he meant something else.
As you see, the judge didn’t buy it. And one of the reasons he may not have bought it is because Trump was asked in the hallway by reporters who he was talking about.

This just buttresses what I said in the last post, that Trump is beat at this point. He’s cringeworthy. He’s got no spark, no fire, and the same tired old lies just don’t play.
It will now be interesting to see two things: 1) Will Trump continue to play with fire and antagonize this judge? and 2) will the judge decide to jail Trump the next time he breaks the court’s orders and disparages a member of the staff or somebody else involved in the proceeding?
Let’s face it, if Trump wasn’t the public figure he is, he would not be allowed to be running wild like this. Anybody else would have already been in jail. And he knows it. So will Judge Engoron decide to teach Trump a real lesson and give him a night in the slammer? Personally, I think it would do him a world of good to sleep on a hard cot and have a sink and a toilet for company and no cell phones or luxuries.
But then again, Fred Trump tried to knock some sense into Donald when he sent him to military school and look how that worked out.

I STILL say one of those judges needs to, NOT jail Trump, but commit him for a mental evaluation, barring all outside communication except with his attorneys, and barring them from making any public statements regarding their client. Jail to Trump et al. is a ticket to martyrdom, but a psych hospital is a different animal and could have the desired chock effect on some of his true believers. And Trump would likely not be too willing to talk about that experience once released. Criminality is one thing. Having to publically admit to the possible “stain” of mental illness would be anathema to him.
