Take your time. Watch it a few times. Yes, the music plays and he juts out his chin for dramatic effect. I get that. He’s playing the Marmalade Messiah now, the flock is gathered, they hang on his every word. They thrill to the fact that they’re breathing the same air.
And then he purses his lips. I don’t know if that’s the MAGA version of being witty and urbane, I’m just writing down what’s there. Now right after that “the problem” happens. I put it in quotes because I don’t know what the problem is. It may be as simple as he forgot what he was going to say next — he just “went up” as actors say, the term of art for forgetting your lines. Or, maybe he’s just a gawd awful actor.
Now his handlers may have sensed something and they flashed whatever signs they flash to get the crowd to its feet. All of this may have a very prosaic explanation. But it’s that vacant stare at :33 to :39, that’s what I find unsettling.
And it may just be that he pissed himself. There’s yet another prosaic explanation. And believe me, I’m surprised Trump hasn’t done so. He actually did that at Mar-a-Lago. There was himself and a group of golfers and the photographer was hiding in the bushes, I guess. In any event, Trump just took it out and whizzed, and somebody commented, “Did he just take a piss?” This was on Twitter. I can’t find it right now, but I did post it here. And truth be known, MAGA would probably love it if he relieved himself on stage. The stage would probably become a holy place, the actual floorboards would become holy relics and go for big bucks at auction. You think I jest?
Everybody agrees he’s not looking his best tonight. So was it merely theatrics?
All of these ideas and observations are completely valid. I still maintain that the strange look in his eyes for those six seconds is something beyond theatrics. I don’t know what went on. But everything else in this tape is consistent with these ideas, except for those few seconds. He does look frozen, alarmed, not there.

They can carry on a conversation normally for a while and then suddenly they’re lost in space. They can get quite animated as they struggle to find a landmark, which is what I’m seeing with P01135809. What’s particularly interesting is the rally staff know what has happened and try to fill in the dead space with background music.
Everyone seems to think this is some sort of kodak moment mentally but I’m considerably younger than former guy and Mitch and I have these moments too. As we age, this happens and if my physician is correct, it is a normal part of the aging process. Is former guy in the stages of Alzheimer/Dementia? Don’t know. I do know however I have these times when I am speaking and completely lose my train of thought, forget words, etc. and so far it is nothing more sinister than getting older.
A physician who has examined, personally examined or at least been in close quarters with, former guy would be able to state with a bit more confidence on the matter.

You are correct – tweed mostly, but I’ve seen herringbone. I doubt Miranda would approve of stalking deers either, but I never heard of anyone actually using one of those hats for that purpose – certainly not after abut 1900 anyway.
