HA! ‘The Buck Stops With Everybody’ Trump Proclaims. Nothing Like Fearless Leadership In A Time Of Crisis

The real author of the “Art of the Deal,” Tony Schwartz, told MSNBC that the wall is Trump’s biggest fraud yet, and he spoke a little about the qualities of deal making, empathy, humility, courage — all of which are qualities that Trump resoundingly lacks, but likes to strut and cluck that he has in great measure. Here’s what Schwartz told Ari Melber earlier.

“I found myself going back to The Art of the Deal and looking over those deals that I unfortunately described 30 years ago and realizing that most of those deals in that book were failures, And a number of deals he’s made over the years since then have overwhelmingly been failures.”

“It’s an accident of history that he is president, but as a deal maker, he is really one of the worst I’ve ever come across”

“When you think about deal making, what is it actually require? It requires understanding the other side, so it requires empathy. It requires humility. It requires courage. These are qualities Donald Trump does not have in spades.”

The pure irony of this is that Trump doesn’t really want the damn wall. It’s merely an effective talking point — or was, before the likes of Limbaugh, Ingraham, Coulter and Drudge began to corner him with a put up or shut up ultimatum. He’s terrified of the base abandoning him and he’s terrified that these right wing media “stars” are going to tell the base that he’s not all that majestic and powerful.

And that day may come sooner than you know. The GOP is going to ride this train to the final stop, wherever that may be. When Trump stops being useful to the GOP, they’ll throw him away like yesterday’s newspaper. Mitch McConnell is not going to let Trump hurt the Republican party — too much. On that you may depend. When Trump goes from the asset column to the liability, McConnell will pull his support and that will be the beginning of the end.

The wall may end up being the issue over which that step is taken. Just wait and see, Trump is going to do a 180 like he did when he was threatening North Korea with “fire and fury.” Wait and see.

Listen to this short video, it encapsulates the wall issue and Trump’s non existent skills as a negotiator well.
