A cynical statesman in ancient Rome opined that “all the people want is bread and circus.” If that’s the case, then that same statesman would be right at home in Atlanta, Georgia today. The circus is out in force. Pro-Trump groups are in front of the courthouse. Personally, I think a black person who’s in favor of Donald Trump is like a chicken who supports Colonel Sanders, but that’s just me.

Lookey here at the show.

And more gems still.

USA Today:

Former President Donald Trump says he will surrender at the Fulton County jail on Thursday in the fourth criminal case against him — and the second for conspiring with others to overturn the results of the 2020 election he lost in Georgia.

Here’s what might happen, and when — including whether he’ll get his first mug shot.

What happens when Trump surrenders? Will he be arrested?

Yes, all defendants are technically arrested in such cases, even if they voluntarily surrender, in a process known as booking.

In the current case, Trump and his 18 co-defendants accused of trying to steal the 2020 presidential election in Georgia are expected to be booked at the notorious Fulton County Jail on Rice Street in downtown Atlanta. […]

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and Sheriff Patrick Labat have established what they say is arguably the biggest preventive security dragnet in the area since the 1996 Olympics. In interviews and public statements, they said they believe the extraordinary level of security they’re putting in place will be enough to handle any contingencies. […]

On Friday July 28, Willis warned her prosecutors to “stay alert” given the increasing wave of threats she and the office were receiving. One email had the subject line “Fani Willis = Corrupt N*” and said, “You are going to fail, you Jim Crow Democrat whore.” […]

Trump himself lashed out at Willis at a campaign rally Tuesday, calling her a “young racist in Atlanta” and falsely claiming she had an affair with “the leader of a gang” she was prosecuting. And she now plans to indict him, he said, on bogus charges so she can run for higher office. “What’s going on in this country is…” Trump said, trailing off.

That’s the set up for the drama soon to unfold. Stay tuned.

  1. I have a feeling these african americans 4 trump are paid actors. I’m not saying there aren’t dumb-a$$ black folks out there, there are, but this seems staged to me.

    • For a hundred bucks you could get a dirt poor, and especially homeless person to wash up and put on a t-shirt and march for a short distance. Say fifty bucks upfront and the rest at the end. Of course, it wouldn’t be surprising if instead of the fifty bucks AFTER part the marchers were enticed on to buses for a big bbq party in a nice park, and just dumped there far from any TV cameras!

  2. And I thought my cheap@$$ former landlord was the only Black.stupid enough to consider Rick Perry as a viable candidate or president back in 2025. I can bet he was an ardent Trumpie. How cheap was he? He refused to fix the baseboard heaters and gave us portable heaters which died in a year. We replaced them with better and more efficient ones that lasted the last 3hezrs. He is the Black.low rent Trump.
We moved to PA,where we have friends (Yay!) and bought a house for not much more than the rents in W. MA. Tripled the size and the energy bills using A/C and ceiling fans with double lanes windows and new efficient appliances (including a dishwasher) are fairly low.
