The Funday Furkids love a holiday and the 4th of July weekend is the biggest patriotic holiday of the year for Americans! It’s a day for dressing up, parading down Main Street and partying afterwards!

But make sure your furkids are secure inside when the fireworks start because that can be very frightening and disorienting for them. Petfinder put together this useful chart to help everyone keep their furkids safe.

  1. Just a point about that #8 hint in the Pet Safety poster but “gentle music” is NOT going to do much good unless you’ve got pretty thick walls (or walls with plenty of sound insulation) and the fireworks are relatively close by. Not to mention, despite local laws generally prohibiting fireworks from being “played with” within city limits, those laws tend to get ignored around the Fourth (and New Year’s as well) so you may have some neighborhood locals playing with their own loud boom-boom bangers.

As someone who’s apparently developed a sensitivity to loud noises over the past decade or so, I always dread the Fourth (and, again, New Year’s) because of the locals who insist on playing with their little firecrackers.

    • I saved this piece to read tonight. I could see some fireworks out my window. I think that Cancun (one of the casino/resorts on Las Vegas Boulevard) had a show. The fireworks are coming from that direction. Very pretty, what i saw.
