The rollercoaster ride of American politics in 2023, ramping up to the 2024 general election, is going up a steep incline and you just know that on the other end, there’s going to be tremendous freefall. The difference between a rollercoaster and politics, however, is that one terrifies and exhilarates for a brief time and then you go back to safety and normalcy. In politics, we don’t know where the ride will go, for what amount of time, and how it will end. Welcome to the Era of Trump, Final Chapter. Raw Story:

Streets around Fulton County courthouse in Georgia are being shut down as of Monday as speculation grows that former President Donald Trump is about to be hit with his fourth criminal indictment.

The county announced tight security measures will be put in place as of 5 a.m. and will remain until at least August 18, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

The street right in front of the courthouse will be completely closed to vehicles. Parking will be banned on streets all around the building, and areas for the expected media scrum to set up have been designated. Barricades started to go up last week.

Fulton’s District Attorney announced last weekend that her investigation into Trump’s involvement in attempts to interfere with the 2020 election results in Georgia are complete and she’s “ready to go.” She has said previously a decision on charges would be announced in early August.

We need to coin a new word for unprecedented. Maybe trumprecendented would work as a word. The definition would be “something iconoclastic, shocking, destructive, corrosive and never ending.”

Having a leading GOP candidate be indicted twice in one month, on top of his two existing indictments, and being called back to court in January for a new trial, brought by the woman he raped and defamed, who has already won a judgement against him, is trumprecedented. No other word for it.

  1. He is getting his wish. Recently, he said “I just need one more indictment”. I have no idea why, except something else to campaign and fund raise on.

  2. Love the roller-coaster metaphor. That’s exactly what it feels like. The word I’d use to describe trump’s effect on the country and democracy in general is magacide.

  3. Sadly, tragically even we all know that despite all the criminal charges Trump will be facing once we add Georgia’s to the list there are far more crimes he COULD be charged and tried for committing. Just as only one-nineth of an iceberg rises above the surface of the water while most is submerged and hidden from view, so it is with Trump’s criminal actions.

  4. In Late May, Fanni Willis sent a letter to all the Fulton County Judges and those in charge of Fulton County Courthouse security, asking them the not schedule anything else from August 7-14. So all appears on schedule for announcing a blockbuster of an Indictment next week naming at least 9 criminal defendants besides Trumplethinskin. Full speed forward on arraignments! Ms. Willis is my hero, as is the sequestered grand jury members – them and their families having survived constant death threats and harassment by MAGAt-Nazi terrorists for months and months leading up to this point.

  5. One good thing isthat his cultists seem to have learned from 1/6. They didn’t show up in huge numbers at his.arraignment in D.C. Apparently seeing Proud Boys and militia nuts getting long jail sentences appealed to their enlightened (not really) self interest prevailed over their desire to stand with their Mango Messiah.

  6. Yes I seen the crowd at the DC Courthouse. Sad day for the gop, democracy and the rule of law. Anecdotal you are right. I actually seen that by someone that was at least a MAGA protester. He said Trumps asking for people to come to somewhere. I think it was first indictment. Anyway the guy said he wasn’t doing it because Trump promised the other ones wouldn’t get in trouble and they are in prison. And he’s not even president now, what’s he going to do. That was my thought when the moron said he was running for 2024. I said then it’s to long. He’s going to burn to many bridges. Same thing with Desantis. He thinks he can out Trump Trump. He’s trying to run to the right of Trump. I believe that Murfster said something along those lines. Desantis had a wide open field to the left of Trump. He could still talk stupid and make ignorant comments about different people. It never fails to amaze me how prejudiced these clowns are but have managed to hide it till they hit the national stage. And with Desantis, when you get down to it the immigrants are his people. But what you have is that him and his family have broke free of that and have somehow transformed themselves into some royalty from another country. I wonder if they have diplomatic immunity. And then you have Joe Bided with economic numbers you haven’t seen in fifty years. You know, the way I see it. Joes been in politics for fifty some years I believe. Whatever, anyway what Joe did was take the economy back to when he was younger. That’s all there is to it. The problem is that the gop and others that can’t stand that an eighty year old man is running probably the best economy given the circumstances in our 250 year history. It is truly historic that an old man with a stutter and a penchant for tripping over things is kicking the ass of many smart people half his age. I love it. Yep I seen probably Fox was showing a real of him tripping, and crashing his bike and other blunders. Now I got one question, and it’s a real simple one. Wouldn’t take no effort at all. But I know the only way you would get one is blurred and all doctored up. When is Trump going to get on a bike? When is Trump going to show he has the balls to do it and challenge Joe Biden to a bicycle race? I mean he plays golf all the time. Although he drives his cart right up to the ball because his fat ass can’t walk much over twenty feet. But hey let’s go Brandon! You just ain’t got no heart if you can’t out ride a bike on old dark Brandon. Hey Trump, by the way. Do you know who Dark Brandon is. He’s the one you don’t fuck with. And he’s looking after you. Good luck..🍀👍

  7. The fool and his minions took the gold standard for elections and through his asininity and lying, made the rest of the world think it is to be no more trusted than the one in russia or some other third world country. He has done so much damage with his rampant stupidity he has downgraded our nation’s credit rating with Fitch. Everyone, not just this orange-hued fool but everyone in congress who helped him, everyone planning and participating in the j6 fiasco of f*ckups, everyone involved need to be locked up for a very long time. I’m all for having every effing one of them put before a firing squad but I understand we do not do that for treason any more. Pity.
