This is Black Wednesday if you’re Corey Lewandowski. Man, talk about all of the chickens coming home to roost at once. If any more show up, the whole barn will collapse. Trashelle Odom, wife of Idaho construction executive John Odom, alleges that Lewandowski “stalked” her all evening during a GOP fundraiser in Las Vegas over the weekend. She says he repeatedly touched her on the leg and even grabbed her derriere. He also allegedly spoke to her about the size of his genitalia and bragged about his sexual performance.  And that was before he “threw his drink at Mrs. Odom, and it landed all over her shoe and the bottom of her dress,” and “called her stupid.” This must have been some shindig. Nothing like clean, conservative fun, right? Politico:

One event attendee who spoke with POLITICO said that Odom gave a detailed retelling of the incidents afterward, describing how she grew fearful for her personal safety as Lewandowski described incidents of violence that took place earlier in his life.

Odom and her husband are relative newcomers to the Republican donor scene, and she told the attendee that she felt intimidated by Lewandowski’s claims that he has control over the former president’s orbit and can determine the fate of those around Trump.

Lewandowski said no candidate receives the president’s endorsement without Lewandowski’s approval, Odom told the attendee.

In the statement from Odom’s attorney, Lewandowski is alleged to have said “repeatedly that he is very powerful and can destroy anyone,” and that he “is close with President Trump and can get anyone elected or can take anyone out.”

“Corey was verbally and physically aggressive and forceful,” Odom alleged in a statement. “I was fearful for my physical safety.” She continued: “I was also fearful that Corey has the power to destroy and ruin everything my husband and I have been working on in our business, personal and charitable endeavors.”

Two of the people present for the dinner described Odom as appearing uncomfortable, and three attendees said Lewandowski appeared to be intoxicated. Photos of the dinner reviewed by POLITICO show Odom posing for selfies with attendees. Several photos showed Lewandowski just above her right shoulder, with his tongue sticking out of his mouth. […]

It is not the first time Lewandowski has been accused of unwanted touching. In late 2017, singer Joy Villa filed a police report alleging the former Trump campaign manager slapped her buttocks during a holiday party at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Lewandowski was also charged with battery in 2016 after yanking the arm of a reporter, Michelle Fields, at a Trump event. The charges were later dropped, but Lewandowski claimed the incident never happened before video emerged confirming that it did.

Yep, Lewandowski is quite the charmer and so now Odom is coming forth and exposing him. Lewandowski has retained a lawyer and Odum’s husband says, “We are exploring out legal options at this time.” The Odums were two of an estimated two dozen major Republican donors at the Sunday dinner, at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, part of a four-day conference held by the Victoria’s Voice charitable foundation, a group devoted to substance abuse. Kristi Noem was also in attendance.

Now Governor Noem has not been having such a great time of it herself. Her scandals are starting to stack up like planes over a black star airport. Just last week a news story broke wherein Noem strong armed officials in South Dakota into allowing her daughter to get a real estate appraisers license which she was unqualified for. Details of this and other unsavory matters are reported by American Greatness, which is a right-wing blog with a “mixed” rating for factual reporting.

I find this interesting that news of this purported affair between Lewandowski and Noem is being reported by American Greatness because this is not a “hit” piece from the left, it is coming from the right wing itself. The owner of American Greatness is a New York Times opinion contributor and a pundit on KKNT radio, Chris Buskirk.

The governor has recently been on the defensive against Republicans upset with her handling of issues ranging from transgenderism to corporate vaccine mandates in her state. Critics have described her supposed “conservative principles” as hollow.

Noem has a habit of saying one thing from the saddle of a high horse and doing another.

After South Dakota Republicans brought a bill to Noem’s desk to ban biological males from competing in women’s sports, the governor killed the legislation with a “style and form” veto. Republican Representative Rhonda Milstead denounced the move to local reporter Robert Mercer. “It is overreaching by trying to legislate law as the executive branch,” she said. Noem subsequently issued diluted, face-saving executive orders in lieu of legislation.

Noem attempted to defend herself by making a bizarre and incoherent appeal to Title IX of the 1972 Education Amendments Act on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.” But detractors pointed out her connections to interest groups that oppose anti-transgender legislation, namely, Amazon and the Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce.

In April, Noem appointed her chief of staff, Tony Venhuizen, to the South Dakota Board of Regents. He currently sits on the board of directors for the Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce, where Amazon had been planning to build a fulfillment center that lawmakers worried would be axed in response to Noem signing the transgender sports bill. […]

In August, Noem found herself on the ropes again. This time, for refusing to prevent private companies from imposing vaccine mandates on employees. “You can’t be a constitutional conservative only when it suits you,” she wrote in the Washington Times. “Since when did the Republican Party become the party of big government and social engineering using government power to force behavior?”

Noem’s message to Americans was that her “conservative principles” relegated her to inaction. Further, anyone upset about corporate vaccine mandates could always just quit their job: “Our robust economy and job market gives them the option to find a new employer that values personal choice and responsibility, and doesn’t force mandates on their employees,” she said.

In practice, however, Noem’s fidelity to principle is plastic.

The Associated Press reported this week that after a South Dakota state agency denied her daughter’s application to become a certified real estate appraiser, Noem met with the state employee who ran the agency, the woman’s direct supervisor, the state labor secretary, and her daughter. Four months later, Noem’s daughter received her certification. Shortly after that, the labor secretary demanded the retirement of Sherry Bren, the agency head, according to a complaint reviewed by the Associated Press. South Dakota’s attorney general announced Tuesday that he is looking into the matter.

Noem appears to be fine with being on the side of “big government and social engineering using government power to force behavior” when it comes to landing her daughter a job and advancing corporate interests. The reports of an affair with Lewandowski and strong-arming nepotism represent personal duplicity in a woman who has already proven politically hypocritical.

This is what a right-wing outlet is saying about her, which indicates if nothing else, internecine fighting, if not out and out civil war in the GOP. American Greatness reported that the “fling” between Lewandowski and Noem has been “going on for months” and that they contacted Noem’s office and she did not respond.

Lewandowski has been heard to say that Noem has a future in GOP politics as big as his manhood — he describes them both as “huge” — and maybe some of that comes from him getting Noem in good with Trump. Last we knew, Trump thought it would be a great idea to replace Mike Pence with either Kristi Noem or Tim Scott, a woman or a black. Maybe this is Scott’s big chance, because it looks like Noem’s star is setting, not rising. Actually, if her press gets any worse, especially from people on her own side of the cultural divide, her star may be going dark.

  1. Trashelle???…….aaahahaha!!!……sounds like the name of one of the Addams family’s cousins.

Also, isn’t the S. Dakota Atty General the one who mowed down a pedestrian with his car, left the scene and no charges were ever issued. Sure, we know that will be an impartial investigation of Noem.

    • What kind of parent names a kid “Trashelle”? Shouldn’t they at least have a clue about what kids do with names? (I got it, too. Even in the last 5 years.)

    • Um, charges WERE filed. I’m not sure where you got that notion.

From NPR.org from 8/27/21: “South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg pleaded no contest Thursday to a pair of misdemeanor traffic charges over a crash last year that killed a pedestrian, avoiding jail time despite bitter complaints from the victim’s family that he was being too lightly punished for actions they called “inexcusable.”

Not sure where you live, but “misdemeanor traffic charges” ARE still “charges.” If you meant *criminal* charges, that’s different.

As for the “impartial investigation” aspect, you sound just like Noem who’s already come out claiming that the AG’s investigation is nothing but politically motivated revenge.

  2. After such behavior from Lewandowski, why aren’t the Odoms running away from the G.Q.P.? Surely they must realize he is the typical example of the party. Or has feeling up another man’s wife become x-tian and the mister just doesn’t give a f*ck if it means another chance at oligarch welfare: tax cuts?

    • Well, just remember that their political leader is a man who openly bragged about his own daughter’s hotness and how he’d be all over her if she weren’t his daughter. Seriously–what kind of FATHER talks that way? But all those Republican “family values” politicians and voters didn’t seem to mind.
