Some politicians use a congressional seat as a license to steal. Lauren Boebert is one of those. She’s paid 174,000 to miss votes and troll on Twittier. There were others before her, there will be many to follow, because it’s human nature that some people entrusted with access to money just can’t be honest and follow the rules. That takes a level of maturity and integrity and she hasn’t got it. We found that out, glaringly, in 2022, when she reimbursed herself over $21,000 for mileage, which means she drove 38,000 miles to bond with her constituents or about 13,000 miles longer than the circumference of the Earth.

What’s that you say? She could have driven coast to coast 19,000 times, how did she manage that in one congressional district of Colorado? We don’t know how people who flunk the GED three times do math, we only report the statistics here.

In any event, “The Colorado congresswoman’s campaign put down $317.48 in late July at Hooch Craft Cocktail Bar in Aspen, Co., according to her most recent campaign finance filings. That’s the same bar co-owned by Quinn Gallagher, the man who accompanied Boebert to the theater that fateful September night,” according to Politico,

Hooch is a gay friendly bar that has hosted drag shows, the latter of which Boebert has publicly criticized.

Boebert’s campaign did not return a request for comment.

The campaign expenditure at Hooch was listed as being for “event catering.” Boebert says she and Gallagher are no longer dating because he is a Democrat.

And of course the fact that the guy’s a Democrat was cobbled into a conspiracy theory by some RWNJ who decided that this was a set up to get poor Bobo drunk. The fact that she was blowing campaign cash at her date’s bar before the politically fatal Beetlejuice debacle and labeling it “event catering” would indicate that they had spent enough time together before the theater date to have had at least a few basic conversations, like “I dig singles bars and fancy cars, hey you wanna dance? What’s your sign, your place or mine, I think you’d dig my plants.” I mean, even Bobo should be capable of that level of rudimentary discourse, wouldn’t you think? Or is she of the school of thought that you don’t waste time with conversation, you just get horizontal? If that sounds cynical, believe me when I tell you I’ve known people like that. They do exist. I worked with them in corporate America. Some of them have professional degrees.

The saga of Bobo will continue. Right now I’m trying to find out if McCarthy donated to her so that she would vote for him, or if Marge wouldn’t let him because Marge called Bobo a “little bitch.” Stay tuned. Adam for Colorado. Donate.

  1. That’s a helluva bar tab even in a swanky town like Aspen. I wonder if she bought a round for the House hoping to get votes? Being Bobo it probably didn’t occur to her that a)Aspen wasn’t in her district, and b)that such a place’s patrons wouldn’t vote for her even if she did the “Mattress Mambo” with them as well as the owner.

    • Actually, according to Wiki, CO-3 (Boebert’s district) DOES include Aspen.

“It takes in most of the rural Western Slope in the state’s western third portion, with a tendril in the south taking in some of the southern portions of the Eastern Plains. It includes the cities of Grand Junction, Durango, Aspen, Glenwood Springs, Ignacio, and Pueblo.”

      • Wow. I didn’t know that and stand corrected. Thanks for putting up the actual fact on this point. Still, I rather doubt the crowd that patronizes that particular bar are going to vote for her.

  2. Given what she allowed the democrat do to her in full public view, it begs the question… how many times did she and he go to the bathroom stall for a ‘talk’? Hey folks in the land of ditches known as towns…time to put the bong down and get yourself a real congress person.

  3. I think there would be no chance in hell she would be in Congress if Hunter S Thompson was still alive and living in the district.

  4. Fair…you betcha. He almost became sheriff on the mescaline ticket! He was against Aspen becoming a playground for rich, entitled, vacuous people. I have read all of his books, some more than once. I would have enjoyed what he would say about the shape of the political landscape.
“when the going gets weird…the weird turn pro.” Hunter S Thompson
