This didn’t even take as long as I originally thought it would. A new Quinnipiac poll dealing with Florida Governor Ron DeathSantis must have him grinding his molars.

In a poll they took a couple of months ago, before Pissantis set foot out of Florida and opened his dumb mouth, he was in great shape. in the favorability/unfavourability questionDeSantis was at 45-36%, a healthy +9. But on the same question, from the same group, he is inverted at 34-36%. In simple math, DeSantis has dropped 21 points in the last couple of months. And worse yet, in a recent New Hampshire poll, Trump leads DeSantis 44-13%. 13%? And he’s in 2nd place?!?

I told y’all this was going to happen months ago. To give you people the full story, I have suffered through portions of DeSantis speeches, pressers, and bill signings. And as I believe I wrote at the time, To know Ron DeSantis is to not want to know Ron DeSantis. He is a self aggrandizing, self important, self superior horses ass. And the Pocket Governor always has been.

Every campaign that DeSantis has run has been the same. DeSantis has all of the personality of Gollum from the Lord of the Rings. His campaigns are TV ads, speeches, and rallies. He never goes near small groups or individuals. Sadly for Pissantis, you can’t do that in Iowa and New Hampshire. Blowing people off or answering with sarcasm are turn-offs. And having the media cover an ongoing Disney, teacher, and LGBTQ uprising in his state isn’t helping matters any.

But this is bad news for anybody in the GOP who had hopes that somebody could tumble Trump from the top of the mountain. Starting in 2018, and intensifying in 2022 and 2022, more GOP moderates, independents, and soft GOP and Democratic voters started bellyaching that while they might like Traitor Tot and his policies, they were sick of the extravagant horsesh*t.

Enter Ron DeSantis. Following Trump’s 2020 loss, DeathSantis gently separated himself from Trump, originated the culture wars that have become a GOP mainstay, and started crafting himself as Trump without the baggage. And as long as he stayed in Tallahassee and didn’t talk to people, it worked.

But here’s the rub. There was actually a market out there among fed up Trump voters. But it turns out that DeSantis sure as sh*t isn’t it. And at this point there’s nobody else in the field in the same lane that could take up the mantle. Which leaves His Lowness in sole possession of the bedwetters, mouth breathers lane.

As for the rest of the field their actual 2024 primary race strategy is clear. It’s the same strategy as if my alma mater, Morton East high school had to play Alabama in football. Line up for the kickoff, and pray for an earthquake. If Alabama gets swallowed up in a sinkhole, you can win in a landslide.

And that’s where the rest of the GOP field is. At least be lined up to play. And then pray for a federal criminal sinkhole to swallow El Pendejo Presidente whole. Then they can run like hell like Forrest Gump for the end zone. But anybody who knows Forest Gump remembers that he ran the wrong way.

But from where I’m sitting, every number shows Trump cruising to the nomination in 2024. Here’s why. In 2016 the first one to drop out of the GOP primaries was Wisconsin Governor Scott Scooter Walker. He saw clearly that while there were 16 other GOP candidates, there was no other candidate in the flaming sociopath category. Walker literally begged everybody else in the field to drop out and unite behind the mainstream candidate polling the best, to give him or her a fighting chance against Trump.

That won’t work this time. Simply because in most polls Trump is running somewhere from 46-52%. In 2016 he was in the mid 30’s, and a coalition candidate could catch and pass him. This time, the 2nd place candidate is DeSantis, at about 26%. But DeSantis is supposed to be the alternate to Trump. If DeSantis drops out, his voters will either hold their noses and vote for Trump, or will just sit out. They’re not interested in anybody else. And if everybody on the sane track dropped out except one, the survivor couldn’t even catch DeSantis!

Which means that barring an earthquake sinkhole, Trump will be the GOP nominee next November. Which means a Biden-Trump rerun. And there’s bit of good news there for the side of the angels. There is a block of voters out there that really don’t want to vote for Biden in 2024, either because of his age, or because they just don’t like him. But when polled as to whether or not they would vote for Trump in a rematch, the answer was a resounding NO! And since Biden beat Trump by some eight million votes, any vote that doesn’t go to Trump is a good vote. This is just getting started.

  1. There’s no way Ronnie is “Trump without the baggage,” outside of his own mind. Say what you will about Trump, but he was able to talk to the common man or woman back in 2016.

He especially moved one fellow, the father of a kid who had either overdosed on drugs, or commit suicide because he couldn’t get off drugs. Trump charmed him. The guy later on realized he had been duped and told people Trump was a phony, but he believed him for a time. It’s amazing who bought into Trump in 2016 and I don’t see them doing the same with DeSantis. DeSantis is HORRIBLE in one-on-one interactions with normal voters. Anybody you can name, both Bushes, certainly Bill Clinton, Reagan, of course Jimmy Carter, were able to charm people one-on-one. You still need that.

    • DeSantis is as busy as he can be taking the evangelical vote from Trump. He has a god complex and is really scary. He has Leonard Leo support and the ultra religious

  2. His antics have certainly gotten the attention of those in Florida who wanted their crops harvested or their hotels cleaned. Shipping people around, and driving out immigrants, along with all the other bad press didn’t help him. Trump lite doesn’t sell, since the real deal has risen from the tomb, walks among us here, in the end times, healing the sick, making the blind see, the lame walk, and driving out demons,(democrats). Hard to take on the messiah as a former disciple. You are just somebody he used to know.

  3. Hmm so who is worst or worse… Rick perry , R-Texas, or DeSatan?? Good grief does that mean gov hot wheels is the… new bestest hope!?!? Egads🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️. Paraphrasing dune (duke atreides): da stoopid must awaken!!!!

    • DeSantis…Perry made an ass clown of himself, but he was under medication after back surgery when he imploded…DeSantis is the same unutterable prick day ion and day out…And he has no thought of governance, just self advancement…

  4. Biden-Harris will defeat whoever the GOP nominee will be. Even Florida may turn blue, the way things are going there. Republicans’ only hope of “winning” hinges on how SCOTUS rules on Moore v. Harper. If the court endorses the Independent State Legislature theory, red state legislators will simply declare the GOP candidate to be the winner, regardless of the state’s popular vote. Short of that, the GOP may have to let Trump be their nominee and watch him, and the party, lose bigly. It might be the only way to break the MAGA curse.

  5. De Santis’ charm factor is lower than a snake’s belly in a wagon rut. It’s just anger, anger, anger. Nothing to like about him.
