It’s time to play Election Day games, since it’s way too early to start drinking. So we will play What If? which is a game where we speculate outcomes of races and the consequences thereof. The most controversial governor’s race in the country is Kari Lake v. Katie Hobbs, hands down. Lake is a vociferous election denier and liar par excellent, in addition to being Donald Trump’s most devoted handmaiden.
Lake has been called out for being too stupid to read a bill, and that was by the conservative Washington Examiner. Lake was ranting at the time that Hobbs wanted to “purge” the pledge of allegiance, national anthem and constitution from the schools. That’s nonsense. The bill she referred to in fact added godly things to educational materials and since Lake is such a great Christian, you would think she would have endorsed it.
The bill added the words “Ditat Deus” which means “God Enriches” and also the phrase “In God We Trust” to things that could be taught, read and posted in classrooms. Ergo, it was a “good” bill, if we are to believe Lake’s platform. The problem was, she was too stupid to read and comprehend the bill and went out raving that it said something it emphatically did not say.
What is truly egregious, is that even with this blatant display of incompetence, the Wall Street Journal endorsed her nonetheless.
It will be a terrible thing indeed for the people of Arizona if this buffoon gets elected. But let’s look at the unexpected silver lining here: if she does win, God forbid, she won’t be there that long. That’s because the only reason Lake wants to be governor of Arizona is so that she can be Donald Trump’s running mate in 2024. And if Trump announces he’s going to run on November 15, next week, then Lake might be named as his running mate immediately and that takes her out of the picture.
What does that mean? It means that the governorship would have to be turned over to somebody, in Arizona law, the secretary of state. Arizona does not have a Lt. Governor, although that could change.
This isn’t my fantasy. Tim Miller of the Bulwark is on the ground in Arizona today, where he reports Steve Bannon is wearing three shirts, and talking to Ric Grenell and the Pizzagate guy, Jack Posobiec. The “stars” are out in mass at the Lake rally.
But one bit of scuttlebutt I picked up at her event was about a hurdle to making the party’s It Woman, Trump’s veep: Arizona does not have a Lieutenant Governor, so it’s the Secretary of State who is first in the line of succession. On the ballot this year is Proposition 131 which would give the governor the ability to change that and appoint an LG. This may turn out to be a consequential initiative, since polls show the Republican Mark Finchem running behind Lake, and it’s hard to imagine her leaving the governorship to Democrat Adrian Fontes, should Fontes win and become the sitting Secretary of State.
Now, of course, you’re seeing the same nightmare scenario here that I am. If the governor could appoint a lieutenant governor, Lake would appoint some MAGA election denier like herself, perhaps Mark Finchem. But if he does lose and if Lake wins by some slender margin and then runs off with Donald Trump the following week, or shortly thereafter in any event, it will be a complete madhouse in Arizona.
Ergo, if Lake wins we better hope that Proposition 131 goes down in flames. Then if she does leave way before the four-year term is up and what a blessing that would be, then the helm would pass to Democrat Adrian Fontes, who is slated to win the secretary of state spot.
I totally believe that Lake’s gubernatorial race is merely an exercise to secure the number two position on the GOP, make that MAGA, ballot. She wants to be side by side with Trump, the two TV bozos who know nothing about government and who are running on stolen election fumes and faux Christianity.
You see what a mind phuque What If? is? Maybe it is time to start drinking. Hey, it’s 7:00 p.m. already in Dublin, let’s use that as our guideline.

I suppose it would be interesting to see who, between Lake and MTG, Trump would pick as running mate.
Trump knows little, but he’s savvy about a handful of things and he understands the value of someone that can come across well on his magic tee vee box. MTG gets on TV a lot, but Lake actually worked for a very long time for Fox out there in AZ. Comparing the two of them on side-by-side screens would be all it would take for Trump to go with Lake. As with OZ, it doesn’t matter that she spouts bullshit and outright lies but rather than she’s quite comfortable in front of the camera no matter the setting. For all the time MTG has hogged the cameras she simply isn’t as polished as Lake.
Here’s the funny part. Remember Nikki Haley who’s popped up again? When she left her gig at the U.N. she was, given her age poised to be a major player and even GOP nominee if not in 2024 then 2028. No one gets away from Trump without getting at least a little of his stench permanently stuck to them but she managed to have very little. With some years of distance from him, and simply going about being a pundit, Party supporter etc. she was primed for bigger and better things. Then she went and pissed it all away by majorly backing Trump in 2020. She could have been pro forma but nooooo! And then she went in with the Big Lie. And lately she’s tossing out Q type shit to curry favor with Trump! I think SHE decided he’d be the nominee in 2024 and has been making a play to be his running mate. Fat Chance!
Given the way Greene’s gone out of her way to attract the national media spotlight, compared to Lake’s more “local” spotlight, I’m thinking Trump would take Lake because she wouldn’t tear away nearly as much of the media from Himself.
If there’s one thing we should all know about Trump, he HATES when one of his “acolytes” gets more press (or even as much press) as he does.
If Trump does announce another run, his VP selection is not going to be someone who might possibly draw away even one watt of the spotlight from him.
What sane person would ever have believed we’d be dealing with such human garbage before drumpf came along? He flipped open Pandora’s Box and the vilest dregs of humanity spilled forth. Ugh
Katie Hobbs will win once all the votes are counted. What happens after that will require a major law enforcement presence around the Arizona Capitol in Phoenix on W. Washington Street, as the GOP-Nazis in Arizona are already planning a copycat Jan. 6 terrorist attack on the capitol. They previously firebombed the Maricopa County Democratic HQ building in July 2020. And that was before they had GOP-Nazi Party candidates Masters, Lake, Finchem and Hamadeh constantly gaslighting their terrorist followers to commit violence against all Ds because the 2022 election results are rigged against them – starting B4 a single vote was even cast!
