What could be better than the sight of former Trump campaign poobah Steve Bannon being led into Manhattan district court in shackles. Bannon is facing 6 criminal counts that could land him in New York state prison for up to 15 years, for mail and wire fraud regarding a bogus scam to build the wall that Trump couldn’t.

Of course, being Bannon, old Two shirts had to go on the offensive, claiming that this was all weaponization of the judicial system, but that they’ll never shut him up! They’ll have to kill me before they shut me up, Bannon shouted on his way into the courthouse.

Ummm. No, dipshit, they don’t have to kill you first. All they have to do is to throw you in a cell on Rikers Island, next to former Trump CFO Allen Weisselberg to shut you up. News Flash moron, there is no podcasting allowed in either a state jail or a state or federal prison.

Let’s be clear. There isn’t an Assistant US Attorney who likes to lose. The US Attorney’s office is the premier legal eagle in the United States judicial system. And the charges that Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg filed today were almost identical to the charges that the DOJ filed against Bannon more than a year ago. The charges that Trump pardoned Bannon for in his final 12 hours in office.

This case is a slam dunk. Two of Bannon’s cohorts in the scheme have already pleaded guilty in federal court. They have Bannon’s statements, his dummy charities set up to launder the donations, and his own texts about moving the money around. This is a lock-up-and-throw-away-the-key case. And Bannon has to know it. The DOJ wouldn’t have charged him if they couldn’t prove it.

Let Bannon keep squealing like a stuck pig. His clock is running out. There is every probability that Bannon will already be in federal lock up when he has to be transported to New York for his fraud trial. And if he’s convicted, his state sentences can’t start until his federal sentences are complete. And one more thing for Bannon to consider, New York district court judges aren’t restrained by mandatory sentencing guidelines like federal judges are. If he’s convicted, Bannon is going to do hard time.

This is where I get my joy. Because this is what happens when Trump and Trumpism meets cold hard reality. And it’s only a matter of time before Traitor Tot, Rudy Giuliani, Mark meadows, and possibly Leningrad Lindsey Graham are rolled up in a carpet and hauled off by Fulton County DA Fani Willis. Good times ahead.

  1. When Bannon & others next to boss hog go to jail & not just the nameless dipshits from January sixth, then the justice system will begin to right the ship. Easy to talk tough hanging out on yachts, not recommended in the pen. Running your mouth will get you hurt real quick. Lard butt will end up face down in the shower while his handler tattoos a nickname on his baby’s ass. Piggy won’t fare well in a prison fight.

    • Coward specialist, Trump the germaphobe, will NEVER get used to the smells, raucous sounds and like you mention the locals will NOT tolerate a running mouth … Since that is all Trump knows how to do, I think there are at least two things that should happen to Trump as preparation for a long visit in the Pen … Cut off his retirement pay, also, send the detail of SS coverage home to mama … Trump, if sent to prison, should be treated exactly like any other prisoner there … Same meals, same hours, same limited health coverage, on site visiting doctor every Thursday, An on site nurse for first aid, (bandages, qualified for injections of sedative to help prevent his own strangulation …

These days are looking better for us, a LOT worse for Trumpistas …

      • As exhilarating as the picture you paint is, I doubt he’ll be spending any time behind any actual bars. The logistics of arranging it would be too daunting. Would his secret service agents get the adjoining cell or a bunk in his? Maybe they’ll arrange a special cell for him like they did for the mafia dons. Most likely they’ll fit him with an ankle bracelet and confine him to Mar-A-Lardo, no more free plane rides to anywhere else. Maybe Vlad will give him an invite to a Russian hellhole/apartment. Hopefully after all the lawsuits he won’t own any more golf courses to go to anyway. I really don’t care what happens to him as long as I don’t have to see or hear him anymore.

        • It would take some extra money but the Secret Service has done it lots of times for Presidents and former Presidents when it comes to their private residences. It wouldn’t cost an exorbitant amount to seal off a wing, or the latter part of a federal prison. Knock down a two or three walls so agents could have a comfortable office/comms setup and their own stash of weapons, and a separate space with a couple of comfy, real beds and say recliner chairs too and a Fridge & microwave. More than enough for people do a week of swing shift/overnight duty. Plumbing would have to be run in for showers of course. No reason why Trump and the Secret Service (and others – I’ll get to that) couldn’t share a cell converted to a space with two or three showerheads. It wouldn’t have to be just the one cell for Trump. They could have a set of others, to be occupied by other members of his family or his fellow criminals from his administration. It would be on a ground floor with a small, walled off exercise area where he/they would get the same amount of time outside as any other general population prisoner that wasn’t restricted for uncooperative behavior. Ok, there’d have to be that separate entrance/exit to the exercise area but if the walls were built thick and had a curved, poured concrete top (so no homemade grappling hooks could work from either side) of say a twelve foot wall it would be secure. And in an emergency guards could get on the roof and lower a ladder, or in Trump’s case lower a stout, looped rope and haul his fat ass up to safety that way and keep him safe until a helicopter arrived to take him to a secure place. I guess they’d also have to create at least one “locke” to enter the secure area. I remember the years after I was done with college basketball but before going into the Marines going to both a state and a federal prison to play games against inmates. At Marion (this was forty years or so ago!) which had replaced Alcatraz I recall having to go through a series of spaces to enter and leave. You’d pass through one set of doors and face another locked set. ONLY when given the proper response to the query to the guard at the door you’d just gone through that it was properly locked again did they open the door to the next space. One or two of these would give the Secret Service plenty of time to prepare to repel an attack, or even call in the helicopter to evacuate themselves and Trump. It wouldn’t be cheap. But it would be worth it to have his fat ass sitting in jail. With the only “amenities” being a small folding table like a card table to sit at while he ate his “three square meals a day.” Which a Secret Service agent could go to the kitchen and get for him – the same stuff regular prisoners would get in the chow line!

    • Yes SSJ, no doubt about it, he is about to come face to face with the very audience he has been stroking for the last dozen years or so. The skin heads, minute men, racist’s white supremacists, and bigots. He’ll feel right at home at least.

  2. There’s also the beauty of his ‘pardon’ is that, as he had to admit guilt for it to be effective, he can’t ‘plead the fifth’ as he’s already admitted guilt
