Hero worship and parasocial relationships are always fascinating to observe. A parasocial relationship is a one-way emotional attachment with a famous person you have never met. Or, it can be a “crush” in any form, but it’s more likely with a famous person, sports team, performer, that kind of thing. Cultism goes a few levels beyond parasocialism. Cultism is not only fanatical, it’s exclusionary. Anybody not inside the cult is considered the enemy.
We see that in the MAGA cult. They have decided that the worship of the reality TV game show host, and his elevation to presidential politics, is their raison d’etre. It’s truly an amazing phenomenon to observe. I’ve been watching it unfold since late 2015, when it became obvious that Donald Trump could actually, incredibly, get the GOP nomination. Now, he’s on his way to getting the GOP nomination, again, to get back in the White House. And he met with the faithful at CPAC Saturday.

The parasocial worship of Trump is bad enough. Trump has no respect for anybody. He’s utterly self centered. He has no friends, his relationships are known to be transactional. But the worship of Melania is so far out there as to be pathological.
Did these people not see the I Really Don’t Care Do U? pea coat, which Melania infamously sported while getting on a plane to go visit with children being held in cages at the border? That was a remarkable day in our history. It was assumed that Melania was either fantastically tone deaf or she decided to outrage people openly, and felt that she had the right to do so.
Even Trump was taken aback by the display and he tried to palm it off as Melania giving a message to the media, “I really don’t care” about the media. I suppose he had to say something, right?
Melania is nobody that anybody would have ever heard of or cared the least about if she didn’t get married to Trump and if he didn’t decide to enter politics at the presidential level. She may lie about degrees in architecture, or speaking six languages fluently, or having had a successful modeling career, but there is no evidence to prove any of this.
Melania looks great, yes. But she never was a supermodel or anything even close to it. She can’t move, for one thing. She’s incredibly stiff. Watch how models actually move, how they glide, how they inhabit the clothes fluidly and make a statement. Modeling is a kind of art form and Melania is not at the top of that game. Never was.
She met Trump when she was 26 years old and she wasn’t exactly getting deluged with offers of work. So she did a logical thing, she married into money. Can’t say as I blame her for that. But to pretend that this woman is something she’s not, that she’s some intellect, some lover of America, some crusader for human rights — it’s all bullshit. Steaming, screaming, unreal bullshit, by the truckload.
But that’s MAGA and MAGA is a big player in politics in 2024 because the GOP collapsed a while ago.
What is comical about this is that she cannot hide forever. Trump has to produce her at some point. The pressure is getting more and more intense. The real telling point will be when she shows up or doesn’t show up after Super Tuesday, which is when Trump is expected to formally get the RNC nomination and then the GOP convention will be just a party to celebrate that fact, basically.
The clock is ticking, Donald, and it doesn’t appear like there’s a lot of happiness on the home front.

Trump’s supporters looked at that message and went, “You go, girl!!!! That’s telling ’em.” She pissed off the right people as far as Trump’s supporters were concerned. Donald might have had to do a little PR but he (also) really didn’t care. (He may have had some words for Melania–like “Why didn’t you warn me you were going to wear that trashy coat? I would’ve upped your allowance a couple grand.” But, since Trump was the one whose policies set up the background for her little “fashion” display, HIS supporters were laughing about it.)
dingleberry did not lose any of his magats when he ridiculed the disabled, when he insulted those who served in the military, when he made light of and then was convicted of sexual assault, … the list is exhausting. Which of those fools would have a problem with mrs. dingleberry wearing that jacket? These are mean-spirited, self-centered, whining, little complainers with a very very outsized sense of entitlement (where they got that sense of entitlement is a mystery-sure as shit wasn’t from anything they’ve done in their lives INCLUDING dingleberry and the mrs.). People like that see a mean-spirited, self-centered, etc. couple in the spotlight and their day is made. They will support them until they die UNLESS they take a good, hard look in the mirror and they’re finally embarrassed by their total lack of character or any other redeeming qualities.
These people con xtians and it is displayed by their actions.
Is she beautiful? One can credibly say she has features necessary to qualify (even if some are the result of cosmetic surgery) but there’s a coolness, as in coldness about her that I find off putting. She’s more like a very lifelike animatronic robot with no personality that even hints at depth and warmth. Some people (not just men) might find her attractive but some people simply aren’t attractive, or to be more blunt pleasant looking much less sexy.
She’s so cold she make Cruella DeVille look like Snow White.
Remember her red xmas trees and her walk through them? Truly creepy…
And those slitty eyes, from too many face lifts. And almost no forehead. I wonder if that, too, is another result of too many face lifts.
