As stated, we might as well get a laugh or two here as we trudge through this long day’s journey into night — and into the rest of the freaking week as the votes are tallied and perhaps beyond. There was a time and I know you remember it, too, when the networks would call the House either in one party’s hands or the other’s by nine o’clock.

Fuggedaboutit, friends. We are in a different world.

And speaking of Fuggedabout it, listen to this fruit fly. This may be her swan song on the public airwaves, at least that is devoutly to be wished.

You never knew the Sopranos was a documentary until now, did you? Or, maybe this is life imitating art. Maybe Forte was a demure, soft spoken thing until she tuned in Tony and the boys and decided that that was the way for her.

She actually got over 28,000 votes. I can’t believe anybody would vote for her, but then I am having palpitations over Herschel Walker still holding his slight lead.

We are two different countries. I’ve been saying it for years and while I keep hoping for unity and better yet, comity, what I see is more evidence that we are indeed two different cultures, co-mingled, contemporaneous, and contiguous.

Stranger than strange, but this is life in 2022.

May God help us. And I’m not talking about the prosperity consciousness sky fairy, the cosmic concierge, I’m talking about a higher intelligence.

  1. I turned the news off and binged Titans on HBO. Too early for Xmas movies, and we gave up.cable for streaming so no Hallmark or Lifetime channels.
My consolation is that, once we move to PA either later this year or early next (landlord is,selling the house,,and we have lots of friends there plus a VA loan and a hope to.find a townhouse),I will.be losing Warren and Markey and gaining Casey and Big Bad John Fetterman. I eagerly await him patting Little Marco on his downy head and drop kicking Cancun Cruz, through the goal post of life.

  2. I worked as an election officer at a polling place in Virginia’s red belt of the blue ridge. A very long day but I feel like its one of the few patriotic things I can do at this age. Alot of alternative DMV id’s, alot of young families and oldster couples. Almost as many voters as 2020. And as I recovered, by not watching/reading anything, I have now put the election part behind me and I look forward to living my best life.
