I have been to far too many funerals and memorial services in my day, as have most of us I suspect, but the reason I dislike them is not the time I spent in honoring a lost loved one, but the loss of a loved one themselves.

“Donald Trump struggled to meet the mood of a memorial service for Ineitha Lynnette Hardaway, better known as “Diamond” of the pro-Trump duo Diamond and Silk.
Speaking Saturday at the gathering in Fayetteville, North Carolina, the former president at times sounded more like a candidate delivering a stump speech than an ex-president memorialising a valued friend or political ally.
At one point, he even quipped that the service had gone on much longer than the “15 minutes” he was promised to deliver his remarks and leave.
“They said about 15-20 minutes, in and out. This is a little longer than 15 minutes, right?” noted Mr Trump.”
And not only did he resent the time spent honoring his friend??? Diamond, of “Diamond and Silk” who supported his sorry ass through thick and thin, he treated the memorial as if it were just another of his dreary campaign rallies, reciting lies about his false accomplishments and nutjob conspiracy theories about his opponents.

This must be the first funeral he has gone to for a Black person. You are in the church ALL DAY and then you meet up for a potluck afterwards. That's how my husband and my in laws do it. Sometimes it's the whole weekend.

I think his “15 minutes” complaint was about not going on early in the show. He thought he was the headline act, could go on right after the opener, then leave after.

I am.Irish gamer I can. There is a,viewing on Night 1, an afternoon viewing, and an evening viewing. It would be much more bearable with a,cash bar,,as,I told my cousin’s just the mortician.
But wait! We are resourceful. During the time between the afternoon and evening viewing,, there is,a,dinner break of around 3 hours. Plenty of time to org not trashed because the priest will.be there saying the rosary, but a,little buzzed. After the actual funeral.mass,and graveside service, people either gather at the home of the bereaved or tromp en masse to a restaurant for brunch.
Really a,cash bar would help. The Irish population used a specific funeral.home,,so it wasn’t unusual to have floaters who came toma,different wake, but realized they knew the other deceased. One gentlemen tried to pick up my grandmother at my grandfather’s wake.
“Diamond” was a notorious anti-vaxxer, and many of the attendees at her service likely are as well. Did anyone there wear a protective mask? And people can get Covid more than once, a serious risk for the old and obese.
Just sayin’.
Well, there is something to remember about republican politicians. It’s in the rules. Must have IQ under 100.
