This is getting intense. Kevin McCarthy is being held up for ransom. It’s not surprising. He has been the embodiment of spinelessness and stupidity for some time now, and Nancy Pelosi characterized him as such, lest you think I’m being harsh. Of course the fringe elements, themselves total cowards and not exactly intellectual giants, are going to hold him up at gunpoint to get what they want. That’s who they are.

Seven Representatives, five sitting members and two representatives-elect, have sent a letter to McCarthy, dated December 8, wherein they make a lot of demands.

The seven Reps are: Scott Perry (PA), Dan Bishop (NC), Andy Ogles (TN), Chip Roy (TX), Andrew Clyde (GA), Eli Crane (AZ), and Paul Gosar (Nutville.)

And what do they want? The end to vaccine mandates, no debt ceiling without “steep hardline cuts” and my favorite, a “Church Commission” – Style Committee “to target weaponized government.” Here we go, HUAC, McCarthy era nuttiness, on steroids.

When they say Church Commission, they’re referring to Frank Church who helmed a committee in the ’70’s that investigated intelligence departments and uncovered some shocking things, such as MKULTRA mind control. This would be their mechanism to target the Deep State, naturally, under cover of respectability, invoking the Church Commission.

Chaired by Idaho Senator Frank Church (DID), the committee was part of a series of investigations into intelligence abuses in 1975, dubbed the “Year of Intelligence”, including its House counterpart, the Pike Committee, and the presidential Rockefeller Commission. The committee’s efforts led to the establishment of the permanent US Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.

You know this is the mechanism to be used to go against the “Deep State” of legend and lore. This is out of Wikipedia, and it’s intriguing that their model to go after Hunter Biden’s laptop and other lunacy is being conflated with the Church Commission and how it came to be.

By the early years of the 1970s, a series of troubling revelations had appeared in the press concerning intelligence activities. First came the revelations by Army intelligence officer Christopher Pyle in January 1970 of the US Army‘s spying on the civilian population[9][10] and Senator Sam Ervin‘s Senate investigations produced more revelations.[11] Then on December 22, 1974, The New York Times published a lengthy article by Seymour Hersh detailing operations engaged in by the CIA over the years that had been dubbed the “family jewels“. Covert action programs involving assassination attempts on foreign leaders and covert attempts to subvert foreign governments were reported for the first time. In addition, the article discussed efforts by intelligence agencies to collect information on the political activities of US citizens.[12]

The creation of the Church Committee was approved on January 27, 1975, by a vote of 82 to 4 in the Senate.[13][14]

Now that’s all well and good, but read further. This is where Kevin is going to lose his mind. They want to decentralize power (meaning keep it for themselves) and be able to “vacate the chair” at any time — meaning throw Kevin out of power.

He’s not going to agree to that. Nobody in their right mind would.

This is the direction we are going as a normal House, led by Democrats, winds down and the highly anticipated $hitshow of the new GOP-led House looms ahead of us.

Mark my words, 2023 will be one for the books.

  1. And, in true fashion, the GOP will lay all the blame for their own ineptitude on the Democrats when the 2024 elections come along. Democrats won’t want to do it, but they will inevitably have to run ads in some of the more purple-likely districts reminding the voters that they, and only they, have the power to choose between reasonable people who want to run the government or the circus clowns who’d rather the run the government into the ground.
