We had three mass shootings this weekend but the Buffalo massacre is the one that the right wing is scurrying to cover up and spin because it’s the one that exposes how dangerous the Replacement Theory lies spewed by Fox News and then co-signed on by Matt Gaetz, Elise Stefanik and others really are.
It’s well documented by now that Peyton Gedron wrote his manifesto based in large part on Tucker Carlson’s anti-diversity and pro Replacement Theory views.
That’s putting the right-wing in a bad position and so here is none other than Steve Bannon and Rudy Giuliani attempting to dig their way out of it.

Rudy’s last statement is interesting. He said, “People with mental issues shouldn’t buy a gun,” not “shouldn’t BE ALLOWED TO BUY a gun.” His comment presupposes that people know when they have mental issues, which, let’s face it is a bit of a stretch. In fact, the crazier people are the less they believe they have anything wrong. The only people who admit to maybe not being wired properly are people with enough mental health to realize when they’re getting a bit off track. Those people tend to do something about it.
And again we run up against the GOP stonewall. No matter how many people die, the GOP will never, ever want to say that there should be some kind of sane gun control legislation, because they are terrified of upsetting the gun crazies in the party. Talk about the tyranny of the minority. If the GOP had been able to get some kind of a grip on the fringe gun lunatics in its party many years ago, the rest of the GOP and the rest of us wouldn’t be dealing with tragedy after tragedy.
It’s also been pointed out that if “they” won’t release the shooter’s manifesto, then how does Steve Bannon know what’s in it?
Guns are supposed to be means of self-protection, protection of the home. They’re also supposed to be used for deer hunting, duck hunting, the sport of target practice. Some good argument can be made for those things. But when a gun is used to act out the hatred in a human heart, the sickness of a diseased mind, there is no good argument.
The sickos have easy access to guns. Until that stops, the mass shootings won’t. It is that simple.

Rudy (and Bannon) shouldn’t be allowed to buy or own guns.
Mentally ill? depends on the person and the problem. If you’re suicidal, you can do it without a gun.
But most of the cases I’ve heard were people who believed RWNJ lies and intentionally killed others.
They’ve learned that the OC shooting on Sunday was by a guy whose family was forced to move from mainland China to Taiwan in 1948 (long before he was born) and he was raised with the idea that they were the enemy. But he has mental problems in addition.
