If you wonder why there are so many Republican reps and senators that seem more aptly cast in a circus side show than the House or Senate, it’s because their party lost its moorings sometime back. All the flotsam and jetsam began its inevitable drift towards Washington, D.C. when Trump descended the elevator and ascended to the top of the GOP ticket. They were lost then, they’re more loss now. Here are two of the shining MAGA lights of congress to talk about blowing up House metal detectors.

“I said, man, is it, is it ‘tannonite’ [sic] or C4 we want to put in those metal detectors and we blow ’em up,” said Gaetz as Sabatini clapped and the crowd laughed and cheered.
That’s not some type of minor fireworks Gaetz is referencing. C-4 is a powerful type of plastic explosive, and he presumably meant “Tannerite,” a two-component explosive consisting of an oxidizer and an aluminium-powder based fuel. When combined, the two components are relatively stable but when struck with a high-velocity bullet impact, it results in an explosive reaction. Tannerite is marketed primarily for use in reactive targets, but YouTube videos of Tannerite-induced explosions have gone viral, sometimes because the explosion has unintentionally started a forest fire or hurt or killed someone.

This is all yuck yuck time in gun culture, made especially comical by the deaths, suicides and injuries at the Capitol. But to these clowns it’s funny ha ha own the libs. I don’t even want to know how many people would have to die before this stopped being a joke to these people. They are without sense, without decency and without shame.
The pity of this is we the people cannot place the same things under the seats of these yahoos. Congress would be infinitely better off and the nation even more so. What idiots.
Even more the pity that if “we the people” made such suggestions about doing that to members of Congress, WE would be investigated by the FBI and local police.
Gaetz and Boebert should IMMEDIATELY be reported for threatening government property.
The law is for the powerless not the powerful. Guess that’s why we are called powerless. He’s been ‘reported’ for sex with underage girls. Even while awaiting the slow grind of the law, how long would you or I keep our job under these circumstances? I think you know the answer to that one. Anyone who believes the rich & powerful, who make the rules to benefit themselves, are under the same rules is smoking crack & eating hallucinogens. Oh. & probably went to law school.
It would be much easier to just leave the weapons at home, dudes. And much safer for everyone around you, too.
I’m not sure of the framing, but bomb threats, (This IS a threat as the components, placed in the metal detectors, in the Congressional space) would be a threat to our government building AND bystanders … are considered Federal Crimes, leading to fines and possible prison time … a high velocity bullet can be substituted by a medium sized firecracker with a timing circuit, so these complete idiots are truly threatening a real bomb threat …
The components are Ammonium Nitrate, as an oxidizer, known to be sensitive, and as a well-used farmer’s fertilizer in large bags, some of which, in storage buildings, have lead to town leveling explosions as a high explosive, forming super-sonic blast fronts that are incredibly powerful, in combination with a small amount of aluminum powder, mixed together by the shooter before using as an indicator target, the effect is relatively tame compared to those warehouse disasters …
Tannerite is what’s called a binary explosive, once mixed, it is against Federal law to transport it in your car or truck, so if these dorks drove some into a metal detector area they could and should be sent to prison … BTW, the truck bomb that was used to dissolve half of that Federal building a few years ago was made of ANFO, Ammonium Nitrate and fuel oil ,,,
