That rattling sound you hear is skeletons in the closet. The Trump Organization is still under criminal investigation and even though you don’t read a news story about it every day, the wheels are still grinding away. Matthew Calamari, who was Donald Trump’s bodyguard and another Trump Organization employee are set to testify before a grand jury. Wall Street Journal:
Matthew Calamari Jr. , the Trump Organization’s corporate director of security and the son of the company’s chief operating officer, was served a subpoena for his testimony this week, the people said. Prosecutors have examined an apartment Mr. Calamari received from the Trump Organization and how he reported that apartment on his taxes, the people said.
Jeffrey McConney, a senior finance official at the Trump Organization, is also expected to go before the grand jury again this week, the people familiar with the matter said. Mr. McConney, who previously testified before the grand jury prior to the indictments of the Trump Organization and its chief financial officer earlier this summer, prepared the personal tax returns of Matthew Calamari Sr. , people familiar with the matter said.
Mr. Calamari Jr.’s testimony before the grand jury would grant him immunity on the subjects about which he testifies and signals prosecutors don’t plan to indict him. Prosecutors continue to investigate whether the elder Mr. Calamari received tax-free fringe benefits and to determine whether his cooperation would be helpful to them, according to people familiar with the matter.
And the district attorneys office is still working with the New York attorney general’s office on Allen Weisselberg’s case.
Seems like he took a good look at his situation – a highly sharpened prosecutorial knife and a pan sizzling on the burner and decided that rather than be on the plate as part of the meal he’d help serve it instead.
Isn’t it amazing how easy it is to pry witnesses’ necks out of Trump’s little hands when large groups have decided to abandon Trump with his cobweb covered 4-5 note whine about the big lie and how it was stolen, this many months after the loser lost so convincingly … He definitely IS toast and things like Grand juries, can become giant sounding points for the Prosecution to layout known evidence, and to hear the witness to these actions confirm things to charge Trump with …
I was on a local Grand jury for a year, learned how there is a priority for the jury, to decide if the prosecutors/State have a convincing amount of evidence to call the court into a trial … In Trump’s case, it sounds like there are Trump’s little finger prints all over everything, his problem is that he could not help bragging it around how he did these things.
Also, the Grand jury usually allows the defendant an opportunity to talk to the jury directly with their own personal outline of the possible innocents’ misunderstood story … Never a good idea, unless you are an expert in avoiding saying certain phrases/words of guilt easily spotted by one of these juries that have heard many sob stories in the past …
