Donald Trump is just like a rat. A rat will foul whatever grain it doesn’t eat and destroy the entire silo. Trump is attempting to do the very same with the GOP. And I have zero sympathy for the GOP. If they couldn’t have seen that one coming, they were really shortsighted and delusional.
Trump ranted on Monday morning on a number of topics on one of his favorite right-wing radio shows. He of course got onto his favorite subject, the election he was “robbed” of and then after about a minute and a half he took out after McConnell and how he “bribes people to stay with him. He raises money and he gives it out to senators.” Oh, Donald, Donald, don’t you know you’re not supposed to say this stuff out loud?
McConnell will not like this when he hears it. He’s always known Trump was a loose cannon but all the same he’d prefer that the cannon was pointed away from him.
Brian Kemp is another guy on the Trump hot seat. Doug Ducey would be. He’s ineligible for reelection due to term limits, and that’s just as well. He’s getting out right under the wire.
Trump is not devoted to the GOP as an institution, nothing like that. He figures that if he’s out of office, screw ’em all, they can be out of office too.
If you’ve never seen the final, tragic result of a murder-suicide, one of those “if I can’t have her (or in a few instances him) then no one will” on a slab trust me. It’s as distressingly ugly as you can possibly imagine. That’s what Trump is doing to the GOP.
That’s bad, but there’s something even worse going on. There are millions of MAGAts out there, aided and abetted by Trump minions in high GOP places helping him and others who are the equivalent of deer in the headlights who don’t know what to do that are intent on doing the murder-suicide thing, the “if I can’t have the country the way I want then no one can have it” hard at work destroying the America I grew up in.
Not that I grew up in a perfect country. It had plenty of flaws to be sure. But it was a damn sight better than what it’s become over the past four decades.
ISTR that the former guy did exactly the same thing, sending money to states whose governors flattered him and denying it (even though it was appropriated) to states whose governors didn’t. See Also: Puerto Rico.
Well, see, that was a completely different thing. Trump is allowed to do that but others aren’t (unless they cut him in for a percentage or include HIM in the bribes).
Everything that comes out of trump’s mouth is a lie and everything he touches turns to shit.
The worst part is they all DID see this coming. Remember Lindsey saying that if they ran Trump they would get what they deserved? Every one of them talked smack about him until he was the GOP candidate and now they goose step to his insanity. What a pathetic bunch of groveling piss ants. Throwing away democracy to keep their jobs – that will disappear once they’ve succeeded with their destruction.
