Take a moment and pinch yourself to see if you’re dreaming, but this GOP/Romney debacle actually got worst. As you read yesterday, Mitt Romney spoke in front of the Utah GOP convention and he was met with resounding boos and hisses. The words “traitor” and “communist” flew through the air “like poison darts” as the local Salt Lake paper put it.
Then it got crazier. A motion to censure Romney for voting to remove Donald Trump from office, twice in fact, went to the floor. The motion was defeated, 798 to 711, but 711 delegates angry enough to vote yes is not something to be taken lightly. This is Romney’s home turf, a place where he was supposedly bulletproof. Salt Lake Tribune:
“Mitt Romney’s votes to remove Trump from office in two illegitimate impeachment trials hurt the constitution and hurt the party,” said Davis County delegate Don Guymon, who authored the resolution. […]
“This was a process driven by Democrats who hated Trump,” continued Guymon. “Remember when (Nancy Pelosi) tore up his speech? Romney’s vote in the first impeachment emboldened Democrats who continued to harass Trump.” […]
“If the point of all this is to let Mitt Romney know we’re displeased with him, trust me, he knows,” said Salt Lake County delegate Emily de Azavedo Brown. “Let’s not turn this into a Trump or no Trump thing. Are we a party of principle or a party of a person?”
Others warned supporting the censure risked defining the party around Trump instead of conservative principles most delegates treasure.
“This proposal is not about whether Romney is a good Republican,” echoed Utah County delegate Steve Densley. “This is about sending a message that this party cannot tolerate dissent.
“This is not the cancel culture party. This is the Republican Party,” he said, drawing widespread cheers from the audience.
The party cannot tolerate dissent. Fall in line, little foot soldiers. And follow who? Who knows? Apparently if you display leadership, or original thought, you’re going to get clobbered.
Hasn’t it already been long established that ‘original thought’ is un-Republican?
For a ‘no cancel’ party, they’re doing a lot of cancellation of anyone who doesn’t worship at the feet of the great white cheat

Well! I never thought the Utah GOP would turn on Romney! But then I’m still surprised the Wyoming GOP censured Liz Cheney!
Not sure if it’s Trump who has them in his tight-fisted little hands or the fact that they’re sore losers who just can’t accept reality. I’m inclined to think it’s more of the latter and Trump who has used their delicate sore loser feelings to magnify his own sore-loserness.
Try Door #3: desperate people and junkies (but I repeat myself) do desperate, stupid things when they start seeing the bottom come up. They also tend to offer up human sacrifices to whatever deities or demons they will let them off the hook.
This article highlights yet more evidence that this party has divided beyond repair.

Yeah, because ripping up a speech is far more disrespectful than yelling “You lie” at the President of the United States while he’s giving a speech to a joint session of Congress. Maybe Mr Guymon needs to be introduced to South Carolina’s Joe Wilson?
I just wish this would influence rmoney to vote again against the republicans on legislation, but he wont. he is sold out just like all the rest of them. he just worries about his taxes, not so much about his dogs
