I don’t know if there’s a big shebeen in the sky where the shades of great satirists and wits hang out, but if there is, everybody from Jonathan Swift to Dorothy Parker is having a brewski and howling about this one. Evidently, the excoriating reviews of Gutfeld! burst somebody’s bubble over at Fox News and they’ve decided to take steps.

Hell, I’m going to apply for this job myself. Here’s my writing sample:
“Joseph Goebbels hears an unexpected knock on the door. He opens it and finds Hermann Goering. Goering says, ‘Thank you for opening the door. It saved me the trouble of kicking it in.’ (laugh track) Goebbels says, ‘Hermann! I’m so glad to see you! If I knew you were coming, I would have baked a Jew.” (laugh track)
This could be part of a regular segment on Gutfeld! called “A Walk Down Aryan Lane.” Won’t that be great for yuks? And you want to know the sick part? This really is their humor.

I think this is less about grabbing Bill Maher’s sloppy seconds, as has been alleged, and more about trying to be a right wing Jon Stewart or more likely Stephen Colbert. Whatever the plan, I defer to Hugo Weaving in Captain America The First Avenger on its execution: “You are FAAAAILING!”

RWNJ’s are not funny. Humor to them is making fun of others, of laughing when bad things happen to other people, and name-calling. None of these are funny. Some of the best humor is self-deprecating, and there is no way in hell any of those RW frat boy types can even begin to attempt that. Too insecure, too full of themselves (and shit). The 30 seconds that I could stand to watch Gutfield were filled with the lamest, most stale, unfunny BS. No sale!
