The Furkids wanted this week to be a special tribute to Dolly Parton. Furkids were among the many she cared for and adored, and they wanted to honour her music, her selfless generosity and all that she loved.

They chose a duet Dolly sang with Kenny Rogers, a song written by the Bee Gees. Of these five musicians, only Barry Gibb remains with us. His twin brothers, Maurice and Robin, passed in 2003 and 2012, and then Kenny in 2020, before Dolly this year. So this is a remembrance of all four alongside an acknowledgment of Barry Gibb’s talent.

You may not be familiar with the name of this song – Islands in the Stream – but we think many of you will recognise it when you hear it. Press play when you’re ready and scroll down to the illustrated lyrics.

Thank you to everyone who bought the Furkids a frothy Kofi last week. I am extremely grateful for your generosity. All proceeds from ko-fi.com/furkids go towards Loula’s health and well-being. We’re saving up for her next vet visit. In the meantime, Loula sends everyone loads of purrs, snuggles and kitty kisses. 💝 💖 💝
