Before the Trump regimes (particularly his second authoritarian regime) senior officers adhered to their solemn oath to the U.S. Constitution. Generals and other senior officers prided themselves on their personal code of conduct — Duty, Honor and Country. What happened to them?
The Trump dictatorship has all his incompetent sycophants in his cabinet (especially Hegseth) removing all senior officers refusing Trump’s Constitutional violations. Others are threatened with losing their pensions if they failed to follow Trump’s orders. Military bases get their Trump propaganda news from Fox on a regular basis.
Historians will address the unlawful war, without Congressional approval. Why didn’t wiser Senior Generals refuse to pull the trigger for Trump?
Our military bombed small boats in the Caribbean without any proof of drug trafficking. A Military senior officer pulled the trigger on two survivors of the small craft that our Military blew up. Trump has murdered and assaulted our unarmed citizens and alienated our closest allies since WW II. He refused the advice of Senior Military Generals, not to invade Iran, yet our Generals obeyed his orders.
Historians will not fail to establish that our Military substantially violated the Military laws that are their obligations to obey, the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). Killing survivors of a craft hit by missals is a clear violation of the UCMJ. Further, unlawful orders cannot be obeyed. It will be noted that many Marines increased movements to become Conscientious Objectors, more than 1000% higher than prior CO efforts. These soldiers did not believe that they were being ordered to a righteous war. They are not cowards, not our Marines. They are brave and they are right. Military Generals and Admirals need to listen to their men and be as brave and right as these young men. General Omar Brandley, known as the “GIs General”, cared for his men. So say we all.
Trump’s War has been a disaster, causing the chaos throughout the world that our Military anticipated, yet they acquiesced to his rambling, demented demands.
Historians will not forget our Military’s obedience to a mentally incapacitated President who has caused world disorder—and OUR MILITARY PULLED THE TRIGGER.
At some point, there will be Military Court Martials for senior officers who failed their oath to the Constitution and their violations of the UCMJ.
How many dismayed Americans, historians will ponder, were deeply distressed that our Military did not stand up for American Democracy, when we were governed by the would-be dictator our Founding Fathers feared. This moment is extraordinary. We live with a power-hungry President with diminished mental capacity. who is taking our Democracy to 1933 in Nazi Germany.
Many Generals, retired and present, understand American and military history. They know what America is up against. This is not Fake News—and they know it. Give your Country the best of you. DUTY, HONOR AND COUNTRY. These are the reasons Americans respect our military and trust you.
I would *really* like to know what happened to our military for them to go along with this. And I am deeply disappointed in them. Court martials should be the least of their worries. Our service people dying in an illegal war should be the biggest one.
