According to Trump Voting by mail is FRAUD. It’s CHEATING. Unless of course he doesn’t want to be bothered with going to a polling place and casting a ballot in person. Even getting to jump to the head of the line and with his strange orange glow being instantly recognizable negating him having to show a photo ID Trumpty-Dumpty doesn’t like having to vote in person. Going to some ‘dump’, being surrounded by regular folks, squeezing his fat butt into a polling station? Not his cup of tea. So he’s chosen multiple times to just mail in an absentee ballot.
As this article from The Daily Beast tells us Trump just voted by mail again. This time it was for a state level election but he’s voted by mail in federal elections too. For all Trump’s railing about fraud, cheating etc. he’s got no problem with mail-in voting if HE does it. He’s Trump and as far as he’s concerned rules are for all the rest of us. It probably annoys him to have to actually mark a mail-in ballot and get it notarized. And provide a copy of his own photo ID. I’m sure the ID is some old, expired one. Who would dare reject HIS ballot. Same with signing it in front of a notary. What notary would dare insist he sign it in front of them? I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if Trump were to simply hand the ballot to Stephen Miller and say ‘You take care of this – I’m heading out to play golf.’
Anyway there was an election in Florida last week and Trump wanted to vote for a state legislator I guess he likes. He just didn’t want to be in some “sh*thole” polling place surrounded by nasty, regular people. Ugh! So in classic “Do as I say, NOT as I do” fashion did the very thing he’s demanding Congress vote to deny the rest of us to do:
President Donald Trump voted by mail in a Tuesday special election in Florida even as he wages war on mail-in voting.
The president, who is registered to vote at his private Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, cast a mail-in ballot in a special election for the state legislature, according to the Palm Beach County Supervisor Elections website.
An elections office spokesperson confirmed to The Washington Post that the information on the site was accurate.
Keep in mind Trump is insisting he won’t sign anything Congress sends to his desk unless they first pass the ridiculously misleadingly named SAVE Act which would among other things strip the ability to vote absentee/by mail from tens of millions of Americans. Like so many rich and entitled a-holes Trump is clearly in “Ok for me but not for thee” mode. Now, his defenders might try to cover for him saying he’s President and though his official voting residence is Mar A Lago in Florida he’s a busy guy and not there full time time.
Ok, that’s true. He’s only there about a third or so of the time. Including the two weekends prior to that state election day when early voting was going on and he could have had his Secret Service detail detour to a polling site on the way to the golf course. Having sent a couple of agents ahead to have the poll workers get his ballot ready and clear out a voting booth for him. In and out in five minutes. Then again those tiny hands of his are pretty beat up. I wonder if like me he’s got neuropathy that started in his feet and ankles but has worked its way to his fingertips. (I haven’t been able to take my own pulse for close to three years now although obviously I still have one – I just can’t feel it anymore)Â Trust me when I say it makes it tougher to fill in the ovals on a ballot without ruining it. I rather doubt Trump wants the spectacle of having to ask an election judge for help, or permission to have an agent help him!
The point is that Trump wants to eliminate almost all absentee/mail-in voting. BUT retain the ability for himself and those he deems worthy of special treatment to use it. However the plain fact is Trump knows damn well there’s no ‘widespread’ or even significant fraud with mail-in voting. He is certain that his ballot will get delivered, processed and counted just like everyone else’s or he wouldn’t vote by mail! He KNOWS it’s not just convenient, but safe and virtually free of fraud and the proof is that HE votes by mail.
So, when as I do from folks back in my hometown get confronted with MAGA acquaintances repeating Trump’s bullshit about mail-in voting remind them HE has voted by mail. Multiple times, including this past Tuesday when he’d had not one but two long weekends where he could have early voted in person! (Adding a “So suck it” is optional…)Â Remind GOP Congress Critters of that fact too. If any of them want to die on Trump’s no mail in voting hill let them. I for one will enjoy watching them and their political careers die swinging from a noose made of mail in ballots come November.
