For ICE Barbie Kristi Noem the thrill of shooting puppies in the face just isn’t enough. Terrorizing immigrants (whether legal or not) is her thing now. We all know that with Trump’s encouragement and/or blessing she’s instilled a “Cruelty is the point” attitude with her agents. What could be more cruel than even at freaking CHRISTMAS sending them out to round up immigrants just hoping to have a quiet holiday. And don’t hesitate to shoot any of them!
The comment about spreading terror isn’t hyperbole. Every week we see examples of NON-criminals dutifully going through the process of getting a green card of becoming citizens, or being called in for processing for asylum be arrested. And just disappear. Including children. These days a person can be a U.S. citizen and even the child of citizens but if they “look like they might be an immigrant and since all immigrants are illegal until proven otherwise” (assuming they are even allowed to try and do so) they know at any time ICE might show up at their door, or their workplace, or even in the parking lot of a store and a gaggle of agents will swarm them and whisk them away.
Even at Christmas. I’ll bet that was ICE Barbie’s Christmas Present to Trumpy – “Say Mr. President let’s terrorize non-white people by making arrests this Christmas?” Since it’s been clear HE wasn’t going to be enjoying his holiday this is probably the only “joy” he got this year. I wonder if ICE Barbie managed to tell Trump about agents shooting a ‘suspected illegal’ on Christmas Eve day or that gal known as his “Human Printer” that shadows him printed out this story from NBC News and showed it to him.
According to ICE flak Tricia McLaughlin agents ‘approached a van in a quiet Glen Burnie (just south of Baltimore) suburb and requested the driver turn off the ignition. In HER telling of events the driver refused and ‘drove at’ ICE agents who opened fire.
The driver of the van was shot and crashed between two buildings, McLaughlin said. The passenger was injured in the crash. Both men were taken to a local hospital, where they are in stable condition, McLaughlin said. She said the ICE agents were “not severely injured.”
McLaughlin said the incident is under investigation.
So far we have nothing but ICE’s word about how the incident unfolded. I for one would like something more reliable. Something objective like say body cam and dash cam video from the agents. Silly me! This proven technology has been out there with regular cops for a long time now. Some cops, the good one actually like it because when things are done the right way it covers THEIR asses. ICE of course wants no part of video of how they go about doing their jobs. They hide behind masks and even threaten people nearby who start recording their appalling actions.
And hell, at the holidays even people in quiet suburbs who know neighbors who aren’t white probably figured for a couple of days ICE would take a break. Somehow I don’t think the ‘investigation’ McLaughlin spoke of will include a canvass of neighbors seeing if anyone happened to see things and record it on their phone. Or a home security system that caught some of the incident. It’s just my opinion but I’m betting unofficial word got passed that agents could spread some special holiday CRUELTY would find something extra in their stockings.
I was never an Elvis fan but the song Blue Christmas comes to mind. It wouldn’t take much to work it into an official ICE Christmas song about having a ‘Cruel, Cruel, Cruel ICE Christmas.’ If he makes it to next year I can see Trump having Lee Greenwood or Kid Rock performing it at Mar A Lago. For this year they have to settle for letting EVERYONE who doesn’t look and sound ‘American’ know they aren’t safe from ICE. Even at Christmas.
One final thought. Yes, the agents shot up the van. However Trump and Noem too are probably PISSED that both weren’t shot dead. No Christmas ‘Kill an immigrant’ bonus for you guys!
