This was a smart move on the part of the White House, although the move wasn’t motivated by intelligence but fear. The smarter move would have been to never use the unauthorized intellectual property to begin with, or failing that, to not sass back the singer when she first demanded that the ICE video which used her song “Juno” be removed because the artist found it “vile and disgusting.” But the Trump administration never does anything the easy way, preferring a rocky hill to a smooth path, always. Here’s the saga.
I would guess that the take-down notice her lawyers sent, accompanied by 138 million views, looked like the WH was about to spend a fuckton of $$ for intellectual property infringement, plus punitive damage, since they answered her and couldn't claim they didn't know.

When we first reported on this issue here Sabrina’s post had racked up 71 million views. Then it went to 94 million. Then it went to 138 million, which is almost half the population of America. That’s a lottta people. Then the White House finally threw in the towel and took down the offending video. And I agree with the reasoning of the poster at the bottom, that there was no way that the White House could plead innocence since they antagonized the woman with a lyric from one of her songs, inferring she was “stupid, or is it slow?” That’s not what you would call a constructive, nor good faith, reply.
Sorry, @RonFilipkowski just adding in case these assholes want to sue you. 139 million views. I want you to be able to defeat these losers if they try and come for you. Just adding for accuracy. 🤷🏽♀️ pic.twitter.com/hJAGUWeQgW

An extra million views logged in just today before the post went dark. That’s a lot. To give you perspective, if we have a million page views in one MONTH on this blog, I am dancing in the street. Our record so far is 2.1 million page views. So I cannot imagine one hundred thirty-NINE million views, just on one piece. My head would explode before I collected the money.

So the White House loses again. They’re now down to Kid Rock, Ted Nugent and Lee Greenwood, hell of a stable of talent, that. It’s no wonder that they steal from liberal artists all the time. Do Jon Voight or Mel Gibson sing? They could lend a hand.

Maybe it’s changing it’s name from ‘The Streisand Effect’ to ‘The Trump Effect’ ?
