I’m sure everybody here remembers Twilight Zone either from its original broadcast in the 50’s or some syndication re-runs. The episode Eye Of The Beholder held a great deal of truth. In it a woman who is beautiful by our standards was moving heaven and earth to become like everybody else in the world she lived in — a society of piggies. If that great episode has slipped your mind, here’s a refresher.

Donald Trump called a perfectly normal looking reporter “Piggy” the other day, “Quiet, quiet Piggy,” he directed the reporter when all she was doing was asking Trump a question, in the course and scope of her normal job duties. If Trump was able to function within the course and scope of his job, he would have had no trouble answering the question. But he couldn’t and so he disparaged the woman.

And that was female reporter number one. Number two (on the same day) was threatened with the loss of ABC’s broadcast license. Trump said he would have his Federal Communications Commissioner get right on it. The fact that that is illegal, not to mention immoral and juvenile, didn’t cross Trump’s *mind.*

So Trump, the ultimate pig in any way that you can define that term, male chauvinist pig, physical slob pig, junk food eating pig, you name it, has been getting raked over the coals on social media. Deservedly so.

And Anthony Scaramucci wants you to know that Trump hates all this. He hates satire and mockery. Scaramucci was on a Daily Beast podcast today and told the host that Trump totally loathes the South Park satires of him so I think we can conclude that Trump isn’t crazy about this satire either.

Except it’s not really so much satire as it is plain, empirical truth. If any man is a piggy, it is Donald through and through.

  1. Narcissists loathe and despise being ridiculed because, deep down under all that protective bravado, they know damn well that they’re exactly as the ridicule depicts. They hate that other people see them for what they really are, instead of the fantasy mask they wear in public.

  2. I immediately thought of that episode when I read the “news” about “the Mar-a-Lago face” – the plastic surgery MAGA women are having with the huge lips. Yes, there was a brief fad for “bee-stung lips” in the early 20th century, but it wasn’t done with plastic surgery them, it was an illusion accomplished with cosmetics. Now they are doing plastic surgery for it, and some are having surgery on top of surgery, which is not only hideous, it is dangerous. I am not likely to forget that episode. It was burned into my brain when it first ran. I did not expect to be living in a time when it had become reality.

    • Good to see you again, Underwriter. It’s been a while. I remember seeing the original broadcast of the Eye Of The Beholder episode, too. I didn’t connect the Palm Beach women with the idea of “conformity” but they all do the big lips, the boobs, facelifts, Botox, you name it. So it’s rich people conformity, I guess.

So many of those jobs go bad, though. Some women look ridiculous with pumped up lips and the Botoxed facial curves but again, it is the eye of the beholder, right? I guess Trump and billionaires like that look. Or something.
