I’ve seen this at least twice now, and it never gets any less funny. Traitor Tot continues to show the most definitive sign of insanity, which is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting a different result every time.

By now, you should already be starting to get that familiar tingle of schadenfreude. Trump has stumbled and fallen on his sword repeatedly, especially on government shutdowns, and never seems to learn. But thank God the Democrats have learned, and there’s a new breed ready to make Traitor Tot pay the price.

There are at least two perfect examples of El Pendejo Presidente’s mammoth incompetence. First, Trump shut the government down over the funding for his vaunted wall funding, and not only didn’t get the funding, he gave up concessions to the Democrats to end the shutdown. Second, look at the debacle after Bratty Matty Gaetz scuttled Kevin  McCarthy’s speakership. Hakeem simply continued to show a united Democratic vote, while the GOP embarrassed itself through a series of show votes before finally settling on a Speaker that nobody wanted.

I’ve been watching congressman Hakeem Jefferies since he got to the House. The man is a superior politician, and most importantly for party leadership, he is a consummate tactician. And one lesson that he apparently learned early in his career is that the party in control has the ultimate control over the negotiating process.

Let me show you what I mean. If a company goes into negotiations with a union in a down market, they know that the union is going to ask for the moon, and then negotiate from the company’s response. So the company leads with what it calls their best offer, and when the union balks, they simply sit there for a week, then follow up with an offer with less benefits than the first one. They have the numbers on their side, and already know that eventually the union will have to settle to get their members back to work. The longer the union delays, the worse the package gets.

Hard fought experience has already shown Jefferies that Johnson can’t pass a miniscule minority bill with his fractured majority. Johnson is going to require Democratic votes, and a lot of them in order to get anything passed. And that’s his ace-in-the-hole.

His opening gambit is moderate, and popular with the voting public. Freeze the sections of the Big Beautiful Piece Of Sh*t that is ravaging the poorer, rural, mostly red states with their Medicaid, cuts, and extend the ACA tax credits to keep insurance costs from skyrocketing for millions of Americans on January 1st. Considering Jefferies position of power, these are almost nonsensically moderate.

But the final decision isn’t up to MAGA Mike. Traitor Tot is pulling the strings, and he’s out for blood. There’s no chance of the House reconvening to hold a vote on the Democrats proposal to reopen the government. And here we go.

I figure the shutdown goes on for about a week before MAGA Mike comes crawling privately to Jefferies to negotiate a way out of this mess. Jefferies will be calm, receptive, judicious, and the offer he presents to Johnson will have at least one, if not more conditions than the original offer did.

Because he already knows one simple political fact of life. And that fact is that the GOP controls now only the White House, but also the Senate and the House as well. All they have to do is to finally get their sh*t together, and they can end the shutdown tomorrow.

But they can’t. The House is so totally dysfunctional that it’s useless to the GOP. They are going to require Democratic votes in order to end the shutdown, and the longer it goes on, the more painful the Democrats are going to make it for Traitor Tot to crawl back from his ledge.

This is how autocracy fails. When a budding despot tries to wield total control without all of the necessary levers of government, the wheels fall off. Traitor Tot wants to disassemble the federal government, but at this moment, the Democrats have shut the whole goddamn thing down. And the federal judiciary is continuing to sh*t all over his plans to become Emperor Gluteus Maximus. The Founding Fathers turned out to be even more brilliant than we ever thought. They constructed a from of federal government too totally f*cked up to tear down.

  1. Your “… The Founding Fathers … brilliant[ly] … constructed a from of federal government too totally f*cked up to tear down…” They even knew it’d survive a 1 in 200 (or more) abnormal event, as being witnessed today, orchestrated by an even more f*cked up wannabe dick-trator that’s cursed with a debenture riddled use-by-date. Sometimes politics is entertaining for some, particularly when some political actors can’t learn from the past experiences of their position and it’s role, in the drama of political arena.
