Governance by tweet, full of policy and piffle, is the new normal. And firing federal officials by Truth Social notice is also the way of things in the year 2025. The latest person to find out that the rug has been ripped out from under her is the first Black woman to ever serve on the Federal Reserve Board, namely Lisa Cook. She lost that job on Monday afternoon because Donald Trump had a brief interlude when he wasn’t talking about creating new flag burning statutes via executive order, or hiding his right hand with his left. So this is what else is new today from the open air asylum which is located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

It is a bit difficult to read, unfortunately. The gist of it is that Cook allegedly provided false information concerning a mortgage and so now she’s a crook (indicted, tried, convicted and sentenced by the Dictator in Chief) and so that’s that. Next. NBC News:
For her part, Cook said in a statement last week that she had “no intention of being bullied to step down from my position because of some questions raised in a tweet.”
Cook said she learned of Pulte’s allegations only from media reports. “I do intend to take any questions about my financial history seriously as a member of the Federal Reserve and so I am gathering the accurate information to answer any legitimate questions and provide the facts,” Cook said.
Cook is the first Black woman to serve on the board of the Fed, considered the world’s most important independent central bank.
Trump demanded that Cook resign last week over the “criminal referral” alleging mortgage fraud and she said she wasn’t going to be bullied.
“I learned from the media that FHFA Director William Pulte posted on social media that he was making a criminal referral based on a mortgage application from four years ago, before I joined the Federal Reserve. I have no intention of being bullied to step down from my position because of some questions raised in a tweet.”
Cook added that she intends “to take any questions about my financial history seriously as a member of the Federal Reserve and so I am gathering the accurate information to answer any legitimate questions and provide the facts.”
Pulte’s letter is the latest scrutiny over the mortgages of prominent Democratic figures, including Sen. Adam Schiff of California and New York Attorney General Letitia James.
Speaking on CNBC, Pulte said, “It doesn’t matter whether you’re Fed Governor Cook or Joe Blow on the street, if you commit mortgage fraud, we are going to report it.”
Yes, but the difference between Joe Blow and Lisa Cook, Letitia James and Adam Schiff is that they are political enemies of Trump, plus two of them are Black and that makes them persona non grata per se.
Look for this to be a daily occurrence. Trump is out for blood and he’s going to go after his enemies, real or perceived. Nobody is safe. No. Body. We are living in an authoritarian regime. This is not the America we were born in, ladies and gentleman. In name, perhaps, but this is not my or your country.
