One of the clear rules that some of us set for ourselves is the refusal to wish for someone’s death or ill-health, if for no other reason than it being a very slippery slope. That being said, of course, there are ample reasons to hope for a regime change of some kind, for some reason, and there is also a need to consider what comes next, if for no greater purpose than the admission that Trump is a lame duck already and MAGA wouldn’t be talking about “48” yet if they didn’t realize it, too. Thus it is that one should follow the latest net obsession, Donald Trump’s bruised hand. Put together with the swollen “cankles” and what it means about his health. Personally, it means nothing to me until he stops golfing, and we know he was golfing last week and reportedly this weekend with Roger Clemens (Birds of a feather, Clemens was said to have sexually assaulted a 16-year-old Mindy Mcreany decades ago). So take all of this with a grain of salt. But there is no question that Trump is attempting to hide his right hand.

Evidence enough that Trump is at least aware of the bruising (that and concealer on the hand) and is doing all he can to hide it. Something is going on. And boy, have people ever noticed.

The official White House position – going well beyond trying to hide it in any way is that Trump’s hand is merely bruised and swollen from shaking hands. This is conceivable, and – to be sure, if one were going to start an IV for diuretics, one would want to do it on the hand that has a built-in ready excuse, such as hand-shaking. That brings up the question about why they wouldn’t start an IV somewhere else, perhaps under the elbow, but those can be tricky in elderly folks. Regardless, whether it is purely bruising or something more for IV meds, something is going on.

Possible. Some of us aren’t big fans of hearing from doctors who haven’t examined a patient and are just downright speculating. But then there are the swollen ankles to deal with, and it makes far more sense when putting the two together that they are trying to get fluid off the old boy, and that would favor IV diuretics, but only if the pills weren’t sufficiently working. The ankles are sort of proof positive that something isn’t working. The guy gets the best medical care available at home; something is going on.

And that has forced MAGA to start looking at whether they have someone lined up for “next” in this matter. To the extent they do, the odds favor J.D. Vance – the “smart” facist-apologist.

Other than the obvious eye-candy, I am not sure why “Amara” is such a big account. But she is, and she is already pushing the “next” meme – which has been shocking to me from the beginning because we all know that the Trump shtick simply doesn’t travel. Trump gets away with it because there is still a large faction of MAGAs that love to “own the libs,” and thus, they get a rise out of it. Vance is too smart to act as though pure trolling would work for him. But have no doubt that simply getting rid of Trump is no panacea. The GOP is acting with all the knowing moves of a permanent minority party interested in permanent power. Don’t for a second believe that a possible Trump incapacitation (for whatever reason) means relief from the ultimate plan. It would probably simply “look” more ordered and slightly better hidden.

Dictators do not care about whether they actually have a majority of voters, only that they can sort of appear to have some tenuous tether to the underlying Constitution. Appearances only. One can argue that Trump is beyond even the need for appearances now. There is no indication that he is willing to follow the Constitution and seek Congress’s approval to occupy Washington; he has called up the National Guard in 19 states with no utility and all indications of simply a visual proving he can do it. Trump has already indicated that he plans to occupy Chicago next.

It is hard not to be depressed and hard not to hope for some sort of early demise. The key is to not care about the underlying rationale. But there’s no indication that Trump plans to give up power any other way. He is already floating the idea of “2028” to seemingly get people used to the idea, already building a ballroom at the White House (One that even MAGA didn’t ask for), already occupying the Capitol, all indications that there is no way to get him out short of total incapacitation and death.

Thus it is that it is now understandable that hope has shifted to Trump simply falling away. One need not openly hope for it because it is obvious. Anything to change the current trajectory is welcome. Thus it is that Xitter is obsessed with his hand.

Yes, yes, yes. But please do remember. Until the golf goes missing, think absolutely nothing of this. He did look terrible in the Oval Office on Friday. But even then, he held court just as insanely as ever, promising ever more fascist moves. Until the majority of the country says “No more” with general strikes and strong resistance, the “slow coup” moves on – unabated.

  2. You’ve got a good observational and commentary hand on highlighting the poor handiwork being employed by Dementia Don’s minders in their attempts to camouflage his possible telltale and progressively mounting and related health status issues, being: neuropsychological; and pathophysiological.

    Slip sliding away, but his attention seeking narcissistic ways comes with its own gravitational pull, all displayed for the observant to note.

And throw in some Trumpy schoolyard bully names. There are hondreds.

  4. Has anyone actually verified that he plays a full 18 holes of golf? Since he plays at his own club, it’s likely that he bars other golfers and the media from being on the course when he plays. He might only play a few holes, just to capture photos. And he uses a golf cart, so he doesn’t exert himself all that much.
