An Answer To An Excellent Question From A Reader On Trump’s Mental Competence

In my most recent article, one of my regular readers, Concinity posted a very interesting and prescient question in her comment. And since the question was not only compelling, but timely and relevant, I’ve decided to answer it here, in my open forum, and give the rest of the community a chance to respond and comment as well.

In my article, I noted the rather obvious decline, both physical as well as mental that have overtaken Traitor Tot in the last several years. In her comment she brought up Biden’s age, and the media’s ceaseless inquisition into Biden’s mental fitness, comparing it to Trump’s, and closed with

Just when will Trump’s mammoth incompetence in everything finally become the central issue it should?

A most important and relevant question Concinity, and so here is your answer, as unfortunate as it might be.

Trump’s diminished and obvious mental incapacity will never become a hot button issue for the mainstream media. And I say this for two simple reasons.

Here’s the first reason. However infuriating it may have been for Democrats, as well as anybody else who had working eyes and ears, the media’s use of constantly reminding the world of Biden’s age was never anything more than a comfortable crutch that they could use to pimp their ratings any time they needed a bump. And they were as safe as houses using it for one simple reason.

Because. it. wasn’t. true. or. applicable. Every time President Biden stuttered a phrase, which he has struggled with since childhood, or mixed a metaphor, or had a momentary lapse of memory, the media could once again flog that dead equine about Biden’s mental fitness. They could do this easily because five minutes later would come video of Biden launching into a detailed and intelligent answer to a pressing question that showed he had more brains for breakfast than the media whores had all day. They could do it with impunity simply because it was a easy hook for their imbecile viewers or readers, with all of the empirical evidence needed to refute it right out there in the open.

Donald Trump is an ass clown. He’s always been an ass clown, and he always will be an ass clown. Even before he ran for President, Traitor Tot had a long history of mixing his metaphors, stumbling over his words, and rambling in personal conversations, especially when reminiscing to an audience. Over time this has only gotten progressively worse.

But there’s one rock solid reason why the media can’t harp on His Lowness’s mental lack of fitness. For the simple reason that he’s the sitting President of the United States. They could attack Biden to their hearts content, because all of the necessary evidence to refute their claims were right out in the open. But if the media starts to level those kinds of doubts against Dipsh*t Donnie, there is absolutely nothing out there to refute their claims and allay the fears. And this puts the media into an untenable position.

And actually there is historical precedent for the media’s treatment of Traitor Tot’s mental shortcomings. There are at least two previous examples I can quote without even researching it;

• As the watergate investigation widened, and then President Nixon’s situation became more and more precarious, it was an open secret that Nixon regularly wandered the halls of the family quarters at night, a bottle and glass of bourbon in his hands, bitching to the portraits of past Presidents about how he was getting f*cked over
• In Reagan’s second term, it was an open secret that Nancy Reagan was consulting whack job psychics to help the President make critical decisions, and that he often nodded off in cabinet meetings, and even in national security meetings. Reagan was later diagnosed as being in the throes of early stage Alzheimers

Don’t discard the seriousness of Nixon’s state. Chronic alcoholism is every bit as dangerous and debilitating as Alzheimer’s. And if I know about it, then this information obviously didn’t come from some still classified document.

But you didn’t hear a peep about it from the media. Not while the two men were still in office. Because at the time, they were both still the President of the United States. And the confidence of the citizens of the hale state of health, both physical as well as mental, could not be questioned or undermined. The results could be catastrophic. Remember also that in the last stages of FDR’s life, when he traveled on Air Force One, you never saw media footage or photos of FDR being carried down the stairs to his wheelchair by his valet. Nobody wanted to risk showing that the President was still vital and healthy.

And there’s another, purely personal motive for the mainstream media to keep Trump’s obvious incompetence out of sight. While Trump is almost certainly batsh*t crazy, he has a legion of faithful followers out there that are even more batsh*t crazy. And at the merest hint of a mental disability in Traitor Tot, the outlet will be immediately snowed under by boycotts, protests, and even death threats to its reporters and staff. This is not a step to be taken lightly.

Some of you may know that Teri and I are X-Files junkies. In fact, we have HULU simply so we can work our way through the entire 11 year series, as well as the two movies. And as the series producer Chris Carter warned at the start of every episode, The truth is out there.

And there are Mulder’s and Scully’s out there too. Trump’s niece, Mary Trump, is a board certified clinical psychologist, who over her lifetime has spent more time in direct contact with her uncle than any personal physician could ever hope to. And for several years now, she has been on the networks, especially MSNBC. And she has not espoused opinions, instead she has espoused coldly analytical, medically sound and backed up diagnoses of her uncle’s mental state. But as with Fox Mulder, nobody is listening. At least in the wider mainstream media.

And so Concinity, there is your well deserved answer. The media was free to poke holes at Biden’s mental fitness simply because they already knew that the evidence was there to prove them stupid and wrong. But if they throw those same spears at Traitor Tot, there is absolutely no empirical evidence to refute it. And for a major media outlet to prove that the sitting President is a basket case is the road to perdition. They didn’t take that road with Nixon or Reagan, and they won’t take it with Trump.
