Trump’s golf game is the perfect metaphor for his life. Think about it. Golf is traditionally a gentleman’s game. People tell the truth, they don’t fudge on the score, and the way a person plays golf says a lot about the way they play the game of life. That said, Trump won something like his 30th consecutive golf championship in New Jersey this weekend and it’s not hard to see how that’s possible. This is as ridiculous as Putin going through the motions of *playing* hockey on the ice. The motion is repeated here, so there’s no question what went down.
Another caddy caught dropping a golf ball for Trump. This time it was at Bedminster.

There is of course a lively debate on Twitter/X. The MAGAs claim that this is legal. But even Grok says it’s not legal.

It is clearly cheating, yes. But there is something about Trump that motivates the cult to come running to his aid, telling us, no no, it’s not cheating. He’s misunderstood. That’s the part I don’t get. What is it about this bum, this total loser, who doesn’t know anything and can’t do anything — including play his beloved game half assed decently — that half the country runs to defend him? I wish I could understand that part of it.
Abraham Lincoln himself foresaw this. He said (and I believe this is a paraphrase from different speeches) “America will never be taken over from without. If we falter and lose our way, it’s because we have been taken over from within.”
We have indeed been taken over from within. One thing I do see as an explanation for all this is how we have two narratives of reality working side by side. That’s the problem. We always used to agree on facts. Maybe not what the facts signified, no, that was in the realm of opinion. But at least we were in agreement about the simple facts of what had taken place, i.e., somebody broke into the Watergate Hotel.
If that same incident took place today, Mike Lindell would be standing outside the Watergate and telling Fox News, no, that never happened. He was making a pillows commercial all night long there and everything was fine.
That’s the difference between now and then. And it is a deadly difference. And unfortunately the victim is democracy itself.

This level of cheating is grounds for instant disqualification in any formal tournament. But once again, Sweet Potato Hitler gets away with it. This is but a snapshot of a life characterized by cheating and lying and never being called to task for it. A life of enriching himself to the point of business failures, of not following through on commitments, and leaving others to hold the bag in the wake of his failures. He has also caused more than a few small business owners to go bankrupt by refusing to pay them what he owed for the work performed, either by litigation or just ignoring them.
I’m still amazed that anyone would call themselves a follower of such an obscenity, much less hold him up as a paragon!
