A certain amount of caution is warranted every time that a single snip is taken as proof of some kind of cognitive decline in anyone. Yet Donald Trump has reached an age at which it would be expected, and just as one would anticipate, there has been far more concerning behavior recently, producing a noticeable uptick in reports, which should concern us all – especially considering one response did actually involve nuclear weapons. In the last few days, Trump has taken a slight from a Russian former president, an internet troll, and responded with nuclear subs off Russia’s coast, he told Chuck Schumer to go to hell, screamed at Charlamagne the God, luridly talked about his press secretary, and oversaw an obvious “deal” of leniency to child-sex-trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell. The media is certainly alerted to the warning signs, and London’s The Daily Mirror adds to the growing evidence of possible dementia by noting that Trump seemed to wholly lose track of the location of a man he just referenced as standing beside him, one Trump called a “long-time friend,” Triple H.
If you are not a lifelong friend and couldn’t identify Triple H. if your family depended on it, fear not – you’re relatively normal. The man’s stardom arose out of the professional wrestling circuit. Still, the guy whom Trump named to the President’s Council on Physical Fitness was also referenced as a life-long friend moments before, while staring right at him. As the Mirror writes:
Donald Trump has been accused of displaying the “clearest visible evidence” yet that he’s “losing it” as he stumbled over his words and failed to recognize someone he described as his “friend for a long time” in an apparent mental lapse during a bill signing ceremony.
“Clearest evidence yet” is quite the bar, and one can quibble here because we get into far more evidence below, but there is no doubt that the entire thing was as awkward as watching Trump go down a ramp.
However, despite claiming to be friends with Triple H, Trump then seemed to scan the room looking for him, apparently forgetting that he was standing right next to him. Trump also fumbled his words just before the uncomfortable moment, leading many to suspect that he experienced a moment of confusion.
If anything, the video doesn’t do the bizarre incident justice. Watch the faces of the people behind Trump.
This video is insane. Trump has met Triple H many times. He knows what the man looks like. But he gets completely lost here—looks right at him and then doesn’t know where he is until someone helps him. The man is senile at least half the time. Holy shit.

Right.
Making matters worse, it is not like Trump has a lifetime of experience in government to fall back on, nor the mature wisdom of a Joe Biden to counteract any decline in sharp acuity. Moreover, issues arising with possible slippage in Trump seem to primarily manifest themselves as petty primal screams at a world that he consistently sees as wholly unfair to him, a rich man who is president. Those petty screams are now having some not so petty impacts.
It is likely the incident with the submarines that is most concerning to those of us otherwise innocent observers. From Al Jazeera, a summary:
The day before, Trump had issued an ultimatum to Russia: If it does not agree to a ceasefire by next Friday, August 8, he will impose a package of economic sanctions. The next day, Medvedev posted on social media, describing Trump’s threat as “a step towards war”. He wrote that Trump was “playing the ultimatum game with Russia”. In a post on Truth Social, Trump responded: “Words are very important, and can often lead to unintended consequences, I hope this will not be one of those instances.”
And Trump tweeted: “I have ordered two Nuclear Submarines to be positioned in the appropriate regions, just in case these foolish and inflammatory statements are more than just that.”
Sign of cognitive decline? First, in the entirety of the U.S. military, few resources are subject to more secrecy than submarines, both their capabilities and locations. The deployment of the U.S. submarine fleet on any given day is entirely top secret, requiring need-to-know access. Second, a former Russian president simply retorting that increased sanctions are possibly a “step toward war” is not something about which one positions submarines. Indeed, it shouldn’t rise to a president’s notice. The response seems to be wholly related to Trump’s famously thin skin. If Trump did see the words as threatening and consequential, that would be an even greater reason to keep the new submarine deployment secret.
It is not like we are the only ones seeing it; reports over the last week of cognitive decline have arisen in USA Today, MSNBC, The Hill, and many others. We have also seen the ubiquity of the “cankles” meme, all in response to Trump’s tremendously swollen ankles – perhaps a sign of heart failure; “Clots and tears.” Against all of this, Trump again claimed to have won a golf championship yesterday. Yes – according to Mediaite, for the sixth time in 2025, President Donald Trump has claimed victory in a club championship at one of his own courses — this time with a sparkling round of 3-under-par. The claim that he keeps winning despite the obvious smacks of North Korea and Dear Leader. It also smacks of cognitive decline because he is perhaps the only person in the country who doesn’t see that this makes him look that much more laughable.
If only it were funny, if only we giggled on the firing of the Bureau of Labor Statistics commissioner over reports that the economy is struggling. Yes, the signs of cognitive decline, once the baseline for a lot of giggles, are now starting to have real-world consequences. Ask Wall Street, ask his playing companions, ask two submarine captains, or just ask longtime friend Triple H.
He will conveniently be standing right there.
The layers here
1. Trump refusing to learn how to say Levesque and calling him Triple H instead
2. Trump forgetting what Paul looks like
3. Trump caressing Paul's muscle and getting excited
4. Paul having to watch a more obvious bullshitter than him deny something pic.twitter.com/kUBNpKESha

In response to the subs, Medvedev also said this on social media (translated):
“Trump shouldn’t think that the video archive of his past immoralities is only in Mossad’s hands”
which is a threat suggesting Russian intelligence has copies of Epstein’s videos.

Yes, it is. But give that Medvedev is a total internet troll, it is at least as likely that he is full of it as he is that the Russians have anything.
I will admit that I was unaware of the added context. I don’t believe Medved’s words are anymore trustworthy than anyone’s, certainly less than the women. Still, whether as a response to referencing videos or the “war talk” the response about announcing a submarine deployment is as off the cuff and absurd as any – no matter the basis.
Thanks for the information.

In a nation of amoral racist morons…he’s the perfect king…he’s been spewing nonsense and bile since 2015 and BEFORE. What a few of us didn’t know, is the nation isn’t as smart, or as ‘christian’ as has been reported. Now we know. Expect doom.
There is no longer any question that Trump is deep into senile dementia, and sliding deeper every day. The real question: when will the news of his insanity spread from MSNBC to the New York Times, Washington Post, and the major news networks? We can only hope that it happens soon…
It will happen when the owners see their profits go down…then the truth MIGHT come into play.
All this, as alluded to above, sees the suggestions gaining momentum to now not sit the realm of armchair psychology, but couched in the reality of a diagnosable medical condition that rubs shoulders with clinical psychiatry.
It certainly appears, from the above accounts, that Dementia Don is slip sliding away, because he’s been observed abd caught, several times: irrationally acting out, projecting, insensitive, unthoughtful, vindictive, stuck for words, confabulating and forgetful. This psychologically complex area both raises its head and concerns, and comes into play when that catchy and charged title Dementia Don is justifiably used. It serves as a perceptive vector that reveals issues and problems with this aged addled adult and their worrying displays of undimmed cerebral decline, that stems from pathologies natural and acquired.
“A certain amount of caution is warranted every time that a single snip is taken as proof of some kind of cognitive decline in anyone.”
Right. Unless the subject is “Joe Biden” in which case not only does the entirety of the Republicon Party and the complicit members of the bought-and-paid-for media completely ignore said caution and press the narrative that the person’s cognitive decline is an absolute certainty.
