As reported earlier, the Bureau of Prisons moved Ghislaine Maxwell out from her Tallahassee prison to a new minimum security facility (with private dorms) in Texas and did so the week after Donald Trump’s old defense lawyer met one on one with Maxwell. This is so blatantly naked corruption that one wonders if there is anything Trump can do that will stir up some resentment within his supporters – anything. After all, there is no indication whatsoever that the sex-offender Maxwell earned the privilege of moving to a privileged prison – “Club Fed, Women’s Version” as this column reported earlier. (Nothing “normal” or “legal” to be elevated, that is). The move has the family of Virginia Guiffre, the most outspoken family of the victims, the victim who died by suicide in adulthood just weeks ago, enraged and appropriately so. The family was moved to release a scathing message to authorities after their dear Virginia’s predator got leniency.

We have the statement from a re-post by our pals at Meidas Touch:

Yes, it is with horror that one sees all of this. There is simply no other takeaway for “rewarding” Ghislaine than the underlying cover-up. And it is done to benefit the woman who ruined the life of another woman – this one. She is real and I am starting to think it is best to bring the victims forward to be remembered every single time these types of accusations are made:

RIP Virginia GuthrieNever forget ✨ www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025…

And her family’s statement after she died just last month:

“Despite all the adversity she faced in her life, she shone so bright. She will be missed beyond measure,” they said.

Giuffre is survived by her three children, Christian, Noah and Emily, who her family said were the “light of her life”.

“It was when she held her newborn daughter in her arms that Virginia realised she had to fight back against those who had abused her and so many others. There are no words that can express the grave loss we feel today with the passing of our sweet Virginia. She was heroic and will always be remembered for her incredible courage and loving spirit.”

But let’s reward the women who instigated all of this because that is exactly what the move to prison in Texas represents – a reward. And what is the only “thing” that Maxwell has to offer the powerful in exchange for such a reward? Despite coming from a wealthy family, there is no amount of wealth that would equal the benefit Maxwell would provide Donald Trump by denying he had any involvement. Almost surely lying. There are a ton of pictures that tell another story.

The very fact that Trump would nakedly make this move, just one week after having his administration speak to Maxwell, makes it all too believable that a pardon may well be in her future. There is nothing anyone can do to take that pardon off the table. This would seem to be ample motivation for Guiffre’s family to release this statement. Let’s revisit the words one more time. “Without any [notification] of the victims” the government moved her to a “luxury” prison, Maxwell being the tool of a “sexual predator” and herself a sex-offender. Obviously, it hits hard in other areas, too.

It is very hard to imagine the wrath the family feels given the last two weeks, the weeks it has become apparent that Donald Trump acutely remembers Guiffre almost as an item “stolen” from him. (In a normal world, what if the other place just offered $2.00 an hour more? An employee would be expected to move on in a normal world. This was not a normal situation. She was property.)

Trump can expect to get increasinly rageful statements from this family – still grieving, but now having the situation rubbed in their face. The victims were always cast aside in the interests of the powerful. Despite it all, nothing has changed. Except the victims are speaking out, if only through family now.

    • Yep, got it. Trying to get it out quickly, we saw it the moment after published. Sorry and thanks.

Timing is at a premium. But shouldn’t happen.

  1. I haven’t thought of this, but some investigation could uncover her wages.

“what if the other place just offered $2.00 an hour more?”
