Trump Says Comey and Garland ‘Planted’ Epstein Files on Him

President Donald Trump is over in Scotland, cheating at golf, and meeting with the U.K.’s Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and all around being sort of creepy. Indeed, it seems as though Trump will do damn near everything, including cheating at golf right in front of cameras, to get just a moment’s peace away from the Epstein scandal. So far, Trump has dangled every Right-Wing relish in existence, all to steer the conversation away from Epstein. He even briefly floated the Holy Grail – arresting President Obama, before someone mentioned that the same “presidential immunity” that Trump perceives to be his own personal waiver would also apply to that wily Obama guy. It would seem that Trump has all but surrendered to the fact that his name is prominently mentioned in the Epstein files because the man’s desperation has come full circle in a catastrophe of logic so pretzeled as to defy even the most earnest attempts to understand. It was from Scotland that Trump unleashed his latest strategy for dealing with the Epstein matter – all of these files, you see, were “planted” by some of the worst people on Earth. Yes, once again, Donald Trump is wholly innocent, and these files were created by Comey, Garland, and others, all to unleash and destroy innocent Trump… just after he was elected president?

Even Trump seems to have trouble following his logic here:

Now, somehow, Donald Trump wants us to believe that former FBI Director James Comey – almost eight years ago, and Merrick Garland (three to four years ago) had the desire to ruin Trump by taking significant risk in creating fake criminal evidence, rather than actually using it then to prevent Trump from even becoming president – meaning releasing files proving that Trump raped teen girls. Instead, according to Trump, these dastardly people hid the files as a ticking time bomb or something. Indeed, Trump almost trips himself, seemingly making an argument that had he been in the files, surely to god someone would’ve spilled them earlier to defeat him (Trump assumes that everyone is as corrupt as he is).

“I can say this. Those files were run by the worst scum on earth. They were run by Comey. They were run by Garland. They were run by Biden and all of the people that actually ran the government, including the autopen. Those files were run for four years by those people. If they had anything, I assume they would have released it. The whole thing is a hoax.”

If this makes any sense to you, then I didn’t lay it out accurately enough – there is no squaring this circle. Because on the one hand, he wants you to believe that there can’t be anything in the files pertaining to him because if there was, someone would’ve already used it and destroyed him (Which is likely his best argument and one that might have been worth visiting in 2015), but if he is mentioned in this files, it is only because people like Comey and Garland put them together and thus references him are plainly fabricated – a hoax, all to get Trump, only… After he was elected to office again.

The level of cognitive dissonance is stunning. No, none of this makes sense. The only thing that makes sense is that Trump is named in the Epstein files because he preyed on young girls. It also makes sense that too many other powerful people litter those files, or the matter would’ve burst onto the scene decades ago. Indeed, about the only real winning argument Trump may have once claimed is that the conscientious adults had their shot at holding Trump accountable and refused to do so, making it now too late. On that, perhaps some of us would agree that Merrick Garland does need to finally answer for his failures and poor timing.

But no one made up anything regarding the many times that Trump is purportedly mentioned in those files. There is a reason that Attorney General Pam Bondi had to use 1,000 agents to flag all Trump references. Trump knows the files will be leaked out soon enough; the drawing wasn’t an outlier. Just a first dab.
