Of the most odious defects to Donald Trump’s character, none rises ever more reliably than the penchant for petulance of the type that one expects from early adolescent boys. Most men can at least convincingly fake being comfortable in their own skin by age 30-35 and this is especially true of men who have succeeded in life at some endeavor, whether family, profession, or whatever. Nothing used to define success quite like becoming President of the United States. But despite this leg-up, Trump still needs the approval of the kool kidz, such that if he’s ever snubbed, well – it’s like having the cheerleader say “no” when invited to prom. Only more juvenile, and people get hurt.

Juxtaposed against this otherwise funny situation is the ultimate cool guy, Barack Obama. Obama drove the Right crazy for a million reasons, few less important than the fact that Obama didn’t care what they said about him or how they treated him. Ultimately, he was the president, has the great family, good looking, great hobbies, etc. He doesn’t need you or anyone for affirmation. In other words, he is like millions of other self-actualized American men.

The two forces of nature came to a head recently at the funeral of President Jimmy Carter. It was there that Trump evidently took advantage of the proximity to invite Obama over for some boys’ time. Obama said no – unleashing Trump’s inner child. According to a report in The Daily Beast.

President Donald Trump was apparently all buddy-buddy with President Barack Obama at the late Jimmy Carter’s funeral, even imploring his erstwhile nemesis to play golf with him. The High Lord of MAGA apparently tried to woo his Democratic predecessor by “enticing him with descriptions of Trump’s courses around the world,” according to an advance copy of a new book obtained by Axios.

No one ever said that there was anything wrong with Trump’s golf courses beyond the fact that they’re owned by Donald Trump. It appears as though that salient fact kept Obama from accepting any offer, leading to the meltdown:

Obama would not appear to have taken the president up on his offer. In fact, whatever civility the pair seemed to share during Carter’s funeral seems to have evaporated in the weeks and months since. Trump later shot back by viciously tearing down a portrait of Obama at the White House; popping off in a wild on-air rant about Obama’s library; and sharing memes suggesting his culpability in crimes envisioned by the bizarre QAnon conspiracy theory.

Yeah. That will work. The guy who helped bury the Epstein list wants to arrest Obama on some CT-infused crime. Obama was the most powerful man on Earth, did so without selling his soul (Especially keeping it clean from the American left), ran a tight ship, then got rich upon getting out by being a professional Barack Obama. Even some criminal mastermind would realize that the only way to screw it up would be to commit an actual crime. All of this escapes Trump who is just fantasizing about stuff he sees on the net that is put up by some of America’s creepiest.

If you didn’t hear Trump dis the Obama library, well – we’re here to serve. Below is Grok’s summation of the situation post-funeral slapdown:

Trump called the project “a disaster,” claiming it faced “massive cost overruns” (from $350 million in 2018 to over $800 million by 2021, per estimates) and was “stopped” due to Obama’s alleged insistence on hiring “woke” and “DEI” workers instead of “good, hard, tough, mean construction workers that I love.” He suggested Obama’s focus on diversity led to an inexperienced workforce, causing delays and budget issues, and offered his own construction expertise, saying, “If he wanted help, I’d give him help because I build on time and on budget.

It is easy to build on budget when you have historically refused to pay subcontractors on time and in full. Again, Grok helps us out by citing a 2016 USA Today study that found at least 60 lawsuits by former subcontractors. We know what Trump means by “DEI” – Obama insisted on hiring some companies owned by black Americans – in Chicago – shudder the thought. Moreover, it is peak-Trump to then put cost overruns and delays on the DEI hires and not Trump’s favorites- mobbed up moneymaking machines that stiff workers and other subs. (See Atlantic City).

Does any of this really matter? Actually, yes. Time and again, we see Donald Trump take out his personal pain on people that he feels don’t rise to his stature – in this case, “DEI hires” (Involving Black-owned American businesses, as if somehow proof of both putting race ahead of competence), all as a means to save his own feelings. Additionally, it actually does hurt the American experiment when one president’s temper tantrums impact traditions like hanging portraits of all presidents regardless of party or petty juvenile slights. And it’s never good to have a president who cares about himself and his ego before any of the above.

It is telling. Donald Trump talks a lot of trash when it comes to Barack Obama, but in the end, you know that Trump would give his left golf ball to be buddies with B.O. Slighted by the cheerleader, the man who is never comfortable just being himself, lashes out against black people generally. Same as it ever was.

Grow up.

Zoomers, we are always in need of donations. It’s been an especially rough month, and my own health has not been great these past few weeks, which just adds to the frustration. Anything you can spare will be immensely appreciated. And thank you to all who have donated generously already. Ursula

  1. It’s not just that he’s not ‘cool’, by any standard, he NEVER was.

And he knows he never will be, but he so desperately wants to be, cool.

It eats him up, it’s the one thing he wants above all else.

Which automatically disqualifies him, the more you want to be cool, the less you are.

Instead he’s just desperate and grasping.

    So uncool.

  2. Donald’s older brother Fred dumped a bowl of mashed potatoes on Donald’s head long long ago and that humiliation so warped him that he sees bowls of mash everywhere, in every imagined or real slight, in every question, in every social encounter and in every day of his awful life.
