The United States is headed for economic disaster. All the signs are there. Just yesterday, it was comical to watch Maria Bartiromo almost choke when reading out the figure that over 30,000 jobs were lost, which was a far cry from the fantasy projection of 95,000 jobs which were supposed to have been created. Then later on in the day Tim Burchett chimed in and was questioning the veracity of the statistic. This isn’t unique to Burchett. Every time there is a number, be it a polling number or a statistic from the government that MAGA doesn’t like, it all gets thrown into the “fake news” bin. So with that in mind, listen to Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent utter a whopper that would have put Pinnochio’s nose out about six feet.

The hype and the reality are two different things. That said, the bum managed to strike the deep racist chord in this country and that’s how he got in office both times. Tragic but true. We keep looking for deeper meaning but I think we should just use Occam’s Razor and realize that there are enough uneducated Americans who think that black and brown people are out to get them and will allow a fascist to do whatever he wants to do to protect against that imaginary threat.
So where does it go from here? Here’s the situation we’re facing:
- The BBB is a disaster that will upend this country financially.
- The BBB is massively unpopular.
- The BBB could cost the GOP a lot in 2026.
- An estimated 50M Americans could die from ramifications of the BBB being passed, namely hunger and lack of medical attention.
- Trump’s Alligator Alcatraz and other for hire private prisons are also massively unpopular.
- James Carville went on record today predicting that Trump would declare martial law between now and 2026.
- A recession is very likely coming and as crazed as things are, maybe a second Great Depression.
These are all verifiable facts, all happening at the same time, and all cause for alarm. So let’s take it step by step and see where the BBB goes. That’s the focus of the moment.

8. It finances a para-military police force that will turn the US into a North Korea-style dictatorship with one of the largest homeland armies on the planet.
Ron Filipkowski says that when you add in funding for related facilities and infrastructure, ICE’s cut of the pie comes in around $400 billion. That’s more than a third of the humongous trillion-dollar Pentagon budget.
This Meidas Touch UNCOVERED episode from yesterday looks at the bill’s fallout and has a bone-chilling clip of a reporter asking Murkowski why she voted for a bill that Rand Paul described as a bailout for Alaska.
It might be more accurate to describe the new Everglades concentration camp not as ‘Alligator Alcatraz’.
But as ‘Alligator Auschwitz’.
