One suspects that not a single person is blaming Donald Trump for the fact that the bombing itself didn’t “obliterate” the intended targets and put an end to Iran’s uranium enrichment plans. It is entirely possible that Trump knew the mission was at least as likely as not to come up short but decided to do it to dissuade Iran from going further. (Everyone knows that everything is actually about Trump to Trump, but one can pretend he was pretending to be a real president.) In the same way that the withdrawal from Afghanistan was not entirely Biden’s fault, it is not a president’s fault that bombs either fell wayward or couldn’t get the job done. It most certainly is a president’s fault when he comes out and says that a target was “totally obliterated” despite intelligence clearly stating that the targets were hardened such that they withstood at least part of the blast.
So it’s beyond bizarre – but totally typical – that Karoline Leavitt would A) Go against obvious leaked intelligence assessments, and then B) Place blame on reporters as an “attempt to demean” Trump. Discredit, yes. Demean, no:
“This alleged assessment is flat-out wrong and was classified as ‘top secret’ but was still leaked to CNN by an anonymous, low-level loser in the intelligence community. The leaking of this alleged assessment is a clear attempt to demean President Trump, and discredit the brave fighter pilots who conducted a perfectly executed mission to obliterate Iran’s nuclear program. Everyone knows what happens when you drop fourteen 30,000 pound bombs perfectly on their targets: total obliteration.”
Why are they so weird 😭

One of the saddest things about watching Trump is seeing firsthand how many bright young people – awful people, to be sure – but bright, impressionable people nonetheless, who then find a very petty hill on which to die for him, throwing away future careers in the process. Leavitt is throwing away every ounce of integrity that she might have once claimed and doing it at a very early stage in her professional career. Of course, we all knew that as she came in.
Leavitt proceeded to be leveled according to Rawstory’s rundown of social media posts in response to her inexplicable statement:
CNN White House reporter Alayna Treene highlighted a key quote from the report, “The White House acknowledged the existence of the assessment but said they disagreed with it.”
Yeah, kind of like going to the Museum of Natural History to stare at a dinosaur skeleton and then wave away evolution as a “theory.”
Rolling Stone politics reporter Nikki McCann Ramírez quipped, “There are moments when you can very clearly tell that Karoline Leavitt is a 27 year old and this right here is one of them.”
Right.
“I’m sorry, so she is admitting the assessment says what it says, she is admitting it’s so sensitive that they classified it as Top Secret, but they’re claiming it’s wrong? Are we classifying false information?” asked national security lawyer Bradly P. Moss.
That is exactly what they’re saying. Additionally, it is understandable that the document would be classified as top-secret; we don’t want to expose our capabilities. But recognizing it as such doesn’t mean that reporters have reported on the document as a means to “demean” the president. She needs to look up the word demean and see what it means…
More:
“We don’t acknowledge the existence of this so-called ‘assessment,’ also it was top secret, leaked by some loser, and we disagree with its conclusions”
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told CNN in a statement: "Everyone knows what happens when you drop fourteen sake bombs on Pete Hegseth: total obliteration."

The stated rationale for the strikes was to eliminate Iran as a nuclear threat. That’s why Trump said he joined Israel’s war. The WH can spin and doctor the intel all they want but reality has a tendency to assert itself even when it’s inconvenient for propagandists like Karoline.

One problem with "everyone around Trump has to talk like Trump" is that the U.S. government is now loaded with officials incapable of basic communication. This is simply not a credible statement, and that's without taking into account that Karoline Leavitt lies about everything all the time.

Dont miss this incredible spin from WH press sec Karoline Leavitt, who claims the US intel assessment is "flat-out wrong"

That is probably enough to establish exactly what is happening here with Leavitt, who is destined for burnout before the first year. Her credibility is as shot as Sean Spicer’s. Additionally, one doubts that a 27-year-old can make the seamless jump to Fox News as did her predecessor, Kayleigh McEnany. No, she is looking at a bleak near future, especially since the country’s issues are likely to intensify as the economy sputters and Trump’s magic continues to be worn down on the Right.
She gets in the ring every day, though. All too often, she punches herself right in the nose, while the rest of the nation bleeds.

Zoomers, we are always in need of donations. It’s been an especially rough month, and my own health has not been great these past few weeks, which just adds to the frustration. Anything you can spare will be immensely appreciated. And thank you to all who have donated genrously already. Ursula
