There’s an old expression, once is happenstance, twice is coincidence and third time it’s enemy action. Or fetish. This is the third time today that we’ve seen an angry townhall of constituents lashing out at their Republican elected official. Again, I suggest you consult the calendar. It is only March 1. We’ve had three of these scenes today. If this is the new normal, things are going to be pretty hairy going forward, if you’re a Republican. We non-Republicans are going to be watching not only this, but the damage that Musk keeps wreaking on our government.
Just spotted this on YouTube, from Rep. Keith Self’s town hall in Wylie, Texas earlier today. Another large, angry crowd at a Republican town hall in a deep red district. Sound on: pic.twitter.com/QQYawtUR7G

This is getting out there. Although I do give this guy credit for standing his ground, as opposed to Roger Marshall in Kansas, who ran “like a dog” as Trump is so fond of saying. And then there’s J.D. Vance who found the protestors in Vermont unnerving, so off he went into the night.
Americans are at each other’s throats right now. This is not a good thing. But it is something that happens. This happened back in the Vietnam era because people were disgusted with what was happening in Southeast Asia. Now the focus isn’t our actions abroad, it is Trump’s actions at home — although the focus may shift to issues abroad before very long. Trump basically abandoned Ukraine yesterday. That stance will become formal before too long. Possibly this very week.
The United States and NATO have kept global peace for the past 80 years. Now Trump/Vance is eager to throw a monkey wrench in that and Vance saw what the reaction was today when he was vacationing in Vermont. (I love the work ethic in the Trump administration. I personally have never taken a vacation, even a long weekend, after five weeks on a job. But Vance did and Trump has already golfed 9 days that we know of.)
There is a group called Trump Golf Watch who keep an eye on when Trump takes the day off to play (No, I don’t know whether they include forays to the Superbowl and NASCAR) and maybe they should do a Vance Play Watch as well.
In any event, it’s your Republican government hard at work. By their fruits ye shall know them.

Friends, we’re in dire straits ourselves after a disastrous Q4 and so far Q1 is awful, too. If you can help it would be appreciated. Our only goal is to stay in business and post these articles. We have overhead, like everybody else, and with the traffic down, we’re making bupkis. Ursula

Why are all these congressional Republicans holding townhalls? Do they really think *their* constituents are not going to be like every other booing, shouting, angry crowd faced by their red state colleagues? Are they being told to hold townhalls and, if so, by whom and why?
Not that I’m complaining. It’s been the only good news lately.
