We are watching a sordid portion of American history repeat itself, albeit it far from our shores. I speak of the Trail Of Tears, which was a genocidal death march instituted by Andrew Jackson because he found the Indians of the region to be an inconvenience. Likewise, Donald Trump finds the Palestinians on the Gaza Strip to be an inconvenience and he was not bluffing when he spoke of bulldozing it and turning it into the “Riviera of the Middle East.” This is how his *mind* works. The obvious crimes against humanity part of this doesn’t even impinge on his consciousness. He’s just looking to build new casinos to bankrupt, and a simple fix to an age old problem. But that’s vintage Trump, “common sense.”

Meanwhile, Netanyahu is praising Trump to the hilt because it serves his purpose to do so. All dictators find that out soon enough, just praise Donald and let him think he’s one of the boys and he’ll do anything.
Israel’s prime minister vowed to “open the gates of hell” if Hamas does not return all its hostages and praised President Trump’s “bold vision for Gaza’s future.”
Benjamin Netanyahu, in a joint statement with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, said the United States and Israel have a “common strategy” when it comes to Gaza.
“We can’t always share the details of this strategy with the public, including when the gates of hell will be opened, as they surely will if all our hostages are not released until the last one,” the statement said. “We will eliminate Hamas’ military capability and its political rule in Gaza. We will bring all our hostages home, and we will ensure that Gaza never again poses a threat to Israel.”
That leaves Little Marco in the unenviable position of being in Jerusalem as part of a regional tour where he is likely to face pushback from Arab leaders over this Mad Magazine-level proposal to transfer the Palestinian population out of the Gaza Strip and redevelop it under U.S. ownership. Because, you see, this plan of Trump’s sounds batshit insane to anybody who isn’t Trump. But of course Netanyahu goes along with it. It solves an age old problem, even though it is liable to cause WWIII. That’s the small part which is somehow being ignored, even though it’s a herd of elephants in the room.
Rubio, speaking to the press with Netanyahu on Sunday, acknowledged that Mr. Trump’s proposal to turn the Gaza Strip into a “Riviera of the Middle East” “may have shocked and surprised” many.
“The president’s also been very bold about his view of what the future for Gaza should be, not the same tired ideas of the past, but something that’s bold and something that, frankly, took courage and vision,” he said.
All that has happened here is that there is a momentary cease fire in the region, which could blow up at any time. But Trump has put all that out of his mind. He wants to do a version of taking paradise and putting up a parking lot, taking a war zone which happens to be on beach front property and making it into a new Riviera — while sending the people who live there, who knows where? Maybe to Mars in one of Elon’s rockets?
What all this blather translates to is that Trump has no rational plan and Rubio is trying to keep the situation from escalating out of control. Color me unconfident.

Even if the average property in Gaza was only worth $50,000, (and there’s plenty of evidence they were worth 4 to 5 times that), if someone had to PAY for this property they’d need more than a few trillion dollars. Even Dimwit Donny must see that people would be upset at the theft of a trillion dollars, let alone a few – besides all other issues of sovereignty, homeland, or thousands of years of history.
Would he be upset if someone took everything off him and banished him to a ‘camp’ somewhere? Even a narcissist should appreciate the anger in being forced such a transaction?
